File:Lichfield Cathedral Feb West Front.jpg

[edit]

Hello. You uploaded File:Lichfield Cathedral Feb West Front.jpg, an image which came from Flickr. You have tagged this with a Creative Commons license, but the original Flickr page shows the license as "all rights reserved". We would need the photographer's permission, or the license on the Flickr page changed, to use this. For requesting permissions, see the instructions at Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. Angus McLellan (Talk) 10:56, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am the original photographer and it is not the same as the one i have posted on flickr it is processed and cropped slightly differently. Flickr uses creative commons license and i have done so with this one. Is this satisfactory?

Thanks. It's probably best to include that in the upload form somewhere. Cheers, Angus McLellan (Talk) 16:42, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there I have reverted the Lichfield cathedral image to the original as it is of higher quality. Your picture is underexposed on the right hand side making it look a bit poorer in quality and the light on the front of the cathedral gives unnatural colour. In real life as the cathedral is built from sandstone and it has absorbed alot of pollutants mainly released during the industrial revolution and victorian age. This has given the cathedral a dark brown even black look in places which my picture has better captured. In fact appear that your image has been photoshopped in some way to give it a more dynamic vibrant feel which is unrealistic representation of the cathedral.

A tag has been placed on Christ Church, Lichfield requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. -- mitchsurp -- (talk) 17:21, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lichfield TV station

[edit]

Hi, re this edit - the ref style was not in keeping with the rest of the article, which uses shortened footnotes via the {{sfn}} template. Thus, I've amended it. One problem: what are the page numbers? Please add these to both the {{sfn|Clayton|1981}} templates in the form of either a |p= parameter (for one page) or |pp= (for two or more). --Redrose64 (talk) 19:43, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and this could do with a page number too. It can go in the |page= parameter of the {{citation}} in place of the {{page needed|date=January 2011}}. Thanks. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:48, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I remind you that Wikipedia articles need references providing substantial coverage from independent published reliable sources, print or online. There shouldn't be any problem with this one, but I advise you to do this very quickly, before the article gets nominated for deletion by a regular deletion process. Thanks for uploading his photograph of the Samuel Johnson statue. I have added his into the article in the gallery section. Cheers. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 05:51, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reclassing at A

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you changed the class of Letocetum from stub to A. An article is not eligible for A-Class status unless it has been reviewed by two uninvolved editors. Some projects also have formal B-Class reviews, but that was not the case here, so I set the class at B. You've clearly put a lot of work into the article, and you may want to nominate it for good article status. --Gyrobo (talk) 18:53, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have provided an initial review (on 8 June 2011) of the article Letocetum that you nominated for GA-status. The review is at Talk:Letocetum/GA1 and you have 7 days to respond. Please note I shall be off-wiki for most or all of the next 3 days but feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have in the meantime. The article Lichfield you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Lichfield for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Jezhotwells (talk) 17:51, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Titley Pool, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://herefordshirewt.org/reserves/titley.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Bs0u10e01, I noted in the page history that you attempted to rewrite the page; however, it still borrows wholesale from the URL referenced above and is not acceptable. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on List of active coal fired power stations in the United Kingdom requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Replaceable fair use File:Grand Hotel New Proposal.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Grand Hotel New Proposal.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:07, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Architecture of Birmingham, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page James Roberts (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
