- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. DrKay (talk) 17:49, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
- Ditto. You seem to be on a campaign to make sweeping changes to many articles that run counter to the manual of style. And the edit summary "some minor changes" is inappropriate for many of the edits you have made. Please slow down and consult the guidance. Eric talk 22:36, 30 January 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Please note for example MOS:ELLIPSIS: Ellipses should be preceded by a non-breaking space. [edit]@EthanLK2001, I've noticed your contributions on that page and I endorse it but there seems to be an issue that the line from IDF downwards cuts midway through and you've not increased the squadron logo sizes for IAF and ship badges for INS. Anyways thanks for your contributions:) Waleed (talk) 12:15, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
