** BONUS ** (one EXTRA point!) - Rachelma114
Hi Professor, below is the feelings about Wikipedia course. ////1. What my experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia course assignment: My experience in this Wikipedia course is reaaaly great. I could apply what I learned in the RPM class into practical edits. That's really cool! It's a really great journey that I not only have fun making edits in Wikipedia but also I learned a lot of techniques and skills in terms of how to cite and edit. //// 2. What I learned. I got to know how to review an article in the aspects of content, tone, sources and talk. I learned how to make edits from reliable sources, restate the sentences from papers, add citations and references. What's most important, I learned to show respect to others‘ edits and to review the articles in an objective way. And I learned to "stand on the shoulders of giants", which is how to cite other's research in the proper way. And I learned how to add pictures to Wikipedia, which is also my favorite part. ---- //// 3. Why / why not I intend to continue editing on Wikipedia: I would like to continue editing on Wikipedia after this class. For me, it's really a great chance where I could learn and have fun at the same time. Before this class, I thought edits articles is a little boring. But after this class, all this kind of feelings disappeared! I found my interest in research, and I would like to continue learning research skills in the future. Thank you, Professor! Best regards, --Rachelma114 (talk) 01:53, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for sharing this Rachelma114. I hope you maintain editing Wikipedia when this is finished! --- FULBERT (talk) 02:29, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
Week 6 Introduction to Creative Commons qhdud12
Hi professor, here is a link to an article that I added a photo to: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Korean_beauty_standards&action=history Thanks! Qhdud12 (talk) 04:59, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- It seems the image you uploaded may have already been removed due to no copyright for it. Remember, you can only upload images you take or otherwise have the copyright to upload Qhdud12. --- FULBERT (talk) 01:33, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
** BONUS ** (one EXTRA point!) qhdud12
1. What your experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia course assignment.
Wikipedia assignment was challenging but interesting. I've only used Wikipedia for research never made contributions to it. In the beginning, it was little difficult to figure out how to edit the article, add a photo and even use our talk page. It was also interesting how everyone works collaboratively to edit and sign so others can know you've made changes. Overall, it was an unique experience.
What you learned.
I learned that it is very difficult to cite and add a photo to the article. The citation requires a lot of information about the resources. It was also very difficult to find photos that are freely used and does not require license. I've never imagined that it was going to be difficult to do those.
Why / why not you intend to continue editing on Wikipedia.
I will continue to edit the articles since I've learned how to. If I see mistakes or find places that need more information, I will contribute and make edits. I will also keep watching the articles that I find an interest in. Qhdud12 (talk) 05:09, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for sharing your feedback Qhdud12 on this, and I hope you continue to edit Wikipedia! --- FULBERT (talk) 01:34, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
Week 6 - Yq712
Dear professor, I choose option B: edit two more articles. The two new articles I picked are Alex Honnold and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi. I added one sentences with references to both of the articles. Here is the edit history: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alex_Honnold&action=history and https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Elizabeth_Chai_Vasarhelyi&action=history -Yq712 (talk) 06:27, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- Interesting edits Yq712; they were both already improved upon! --- FULBERT (talk) 01:36, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
Bonus Questions
What your experience was like (overall) with this Wikipedia course assignment. Overall the experience with this Wikipedia course assignment is great. Before doing the assignment, I've never thought about edit Wikipedia articles and didn't know how to do it. I learned a lot about how the articles are built, and how I can contribute to articles.
What you learned. I learned how Wikipedia see plagiarize and copyright. I realized it is simple to edit Wikipedia articles, but people have to follow many rules in order to make sure the editing is correct.
Why / why not you intend to continue editing on Wikipedia. I may continue editing on Wikipedia. If I found some mistakes or some articles I could add details, I will continue contributing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yq712 (talk • contribs) 06:36, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for your thoughts on this Yq712 ; remember to sign edits on the Talk: page! I hope you continue with this once the course ends!! --- FULBERT (talk) 01:37, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
Week 5 - Gl1147
Hi Professor, I edited 2 more articles this week. For Razer Inc., I updated a product designed by this company that was just released yesterday. For Amazon Web Services, I added a section called "Pricing" that gives readers an overview of how AWS products and services are charged. Gl1147 (talk) 01:08, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- I combined your text here to save space. Both the articles you edited made reference right back to the companies themselves, and it is not a reliable use of references to cite a company's desciption of itself in support of a claim. Can you find other, reliable third party sources to substantiate their own claims to add onto those edits Gl1147? Please add them and then ping me again here. --- FULBERT (talk) 02:20, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- I fixed the Razer article by using a 3rd party reference. However for the AWS article, I think using reference from the company itself would be the most appropriate when it comes to the pricing of its own products. The reference link that I used provides the most comprehensive list of all services that AWS has to offer along with most accurate and detailed pricing information for each service. Let me know if you disagree. --- Gl1147 (talk) 05:59, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
- People and companies always have their own biases when talking about their abilities, capabilities, offerings, or values, [User:Gl1147|Gl1147]]. Even when not intended, it is hard to be objective or critical when speaking about oneself. As a result, all resources on Wikipedia are instructed to follow the policy of using reliable, third party WP:INDEPENDENT published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy WP:RELIABLE. We almost always run into problems when we trust companies to tell about themselves and we accept it without questioning it or asking for others to confirm our understanding is accurate. Can you find another source to add to it to show somebody else in a credible role agrees with that, too? --- FULBERT (talk) 01:42, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- The references for my edits in the AWS article have been changed to 3rd party. --- Gl1147 (talk) 11:02, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- I am not sure those other sources are sufficient yet, but they are enough to give other editors something to work with Gl1147. Great! --- FULBERT (talk) 12:25, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- The references for my edits in the AWS article have been changed to 3rd party. --- Gl1147 (talk) 11:02, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

It was hard for me at the beginning since I was completely new to the wiki editing. I mean I'm still a newbie but feel much more comfortable with the editing tools. These trainings are so helpful and they literally guided me through everything that I need to know. Through the six-week sessions, I get to know how to add contents and citations correctly as well as the media. I will keep editing in the future because it makes me feel good that my contributions can make the world a better place by simply sharing my knowledge and ideas. Thank you for having this great idea as the extra point to the course. Bunny233 (talk) 19:19, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback on this Bunny233, and I hope you continue editing Wikipedia in the future. --- FULBERT (talk) 15:32, 8 December 2018 (UTC)

Week 1, Assignment 4, self-introduction, rg2493
Hi, my name is rg2493. I graduated from CUNY Baruch College in New York City. I've been living in NYC for 5 years and I really like this city. I used to move around frequently with my parents and have lived in different cities. This experience made me a person who loves traveling and changes. I've been to Japan, Korea, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Porto Rico, and Singapore. I always enjoy the type of travel where I can experience the local life rather than pure tourism. I believe experiencing the life in a completely different place and culture will make myself a wise person with a broader view.Rg2493 (talk) 20:24, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia Rg2493. I sincerely hope you are right about gaining wisdom through experiencing other cultures, as there are few other ways for us to become aware of our own assumptions than be experiencing them within the mores of difference. I hope you bring that fresh set of eyes to your work here! --- FULBERT (talk) 04:40, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
