Sky Harbour, there is a minor formatting problem with the article, which I have drawn attention to in the DYK review. Can you please look to the problem as there seems to be a block on the writer. I don't think that his absence ought to stop the article from being passed for DYK, but this matter needs to be fixed first.

I can advise this: he has to explain to the blocking administrator, in detail, how he has changed, and what he intends to do to not succumb to recidivism. The fact that he is a Filipino and the wiki culture in the Philippines is different compared to the U.S. or wherever he/she (the admin) is from may work in his favor. I am unable to revert his edits as I have already been warned that I am close to violating 3RR. Hi, Chris. I have other problems here with the user in question aside from the Iloilo/Passi dispute. Aside from gutting the name change section (because the sources are inaccessible; well, they're still valid even if inaccessible), he also insists on inserting copyrighted text directly lifted from the iloiloairport.com website. I know he's Cabatuanon, so I understand the pride element here or anything of the sort, but it is frustrating to see this as it is. --Sky Harbor ^(talk) 18:30, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Tagalog help needed

Hello Sky Harbor, I'm contacting you because we need some Tagalog translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on tl.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I actually started work on translating the VisualEditor interface around the time of Wikimania in Hong Kong, although I'm taking time off translating it for the time being because I need lexical resources to translate certain terms into Tagalog. In addition, the documentation pages are being translated as well (at Wikipedia:VisualEditor on the Tagalog Wikipedia): I finished translating the keyboard shortcuts into Tagalog earlier last month. :) --Sky Harbor ^(talk) 01:57, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

I work in a library here in Vancouver, I know we have some high quality Taglaog dictionaries. Let me know if you'd like me to look up a term that is giving you trouble (I know the technical ones can be a challenge). Great work with the other translations as well. Are you active on tl.wiki at all? We are considering rolling out VE there on the 24th, and would like to hear from tl.wiki regulars about how they feel about that. I'm a bureaucrat on the Tagalog Wikipedia. ;) (Also, I didn't know you spoke such excellent Tagalog/Filipino.)

Some of the dictionaries your library might have are available at my university's library, and Wikimedia Philippines has also consciously been collecting linguistic resources for the benefit of members and local Wikipedians. Some of those dictionaries are online, but the ones I have the most faith in (Gabby's Practical English-Filipino Dictionary, which is also available in print, and the dictionaries on Bansa.org) are for some reason currently offline, which is why I've been slower in translating the interface into Tagalog.

In addition, I have a pending request for the creation of an informal interface for the Tagalog projects (here), which I was hoping would be done prior to the rollout of the VisualEditor. I wonder if it's possible for you to prod the tech team into this request. :) --Sky Harbor ^(talk) 05:03, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Unfortunately we don't have a copy of Gabby's - I'll take a look at this one by J.B. Santos to see if it covers any modern tech terms. I will talk to James Forrester (in charge of the VE project) directly about that request, and suggest that it should be worked on before a Tagalog rollout.
