Redirect from an user's talk page to another unrelated user's talk page, created by an uninvolved third person. Suggesting to delete. —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 21:51, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- I, the “uninvolved third person“, created the redirect because I assumed that both bots are by the same person. If they are in fact unrelated, then it should definetly be deleted. Thanks for bringing this matter to my attention. -- -- -- 06:04, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
- Apparently, yes, they are unrelated. See Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations/Completed/42#None (SUL request) → BlackBot. —CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {C•X}) 17:30, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete as it does seem they are unralted although all contributions by the usurped account are deleted it doesn't look like they are related and the account isn't/was never a bot? Per above it looks like it could be deleted as G7. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:00, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

Forkknife
[edit]Likely originated as a joke redirect, but unclear target as is (fork or knife?). Recommending deletion, as it does not benefit Wikipedia. TNstingray (talk) 15:35, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
KeepThe creator, Sandstein, explained the reasoning on the redirect page:The use of the name "fork knife" has been reported [1].
Ca talk to me! 15:40, 21 November 2024 (UTC)- It is also a plausible mondegreen. Ca talk to me! 15:40, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
- Per Masem, Redirect to Fortnite Battle Royale, where it is mentioned. I struggle to see how redirecting a to a linguistics article with the term as a passing example is helpful. We don't have redirects like breakhead(literal translation of Spanish word rompecabeza) targetting puzzle. Per WP:SMALLDETAILS, Forkknife (without a space) unambigously refers to the fortnite meme. Ca talk to me! 09:02, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- Retarget to Dvandva, where it's a literal translation of an example term. The reference to fortnite is unmentioned, and I expect anyone who wants information about that will be left at a loss, since the article has none, making the redirect inappropriate. 35.139.154.158 (talk) 18:29, 21 November 2024 (UTC)

- Note that Fork Knife was redirected to Knife and Fork at the recently concluded WP:Redirects for discussion/Log/2024 November 28#Fork Knife. Jay 💬 16:27, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- Redirect: Per Jay, there is another redirect Fork Knife was discussed and concluded as retarget on WP:Redirects for discussion/Log/2024 November 28#Fork Knife. Now as there is another redirect related to such is available, this should go the same way. Also the creators claim is not a vulnerable fact cause Fork Knife was also like that.––kemel49(connect)(contri) 03:13, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete We now have four proposed places this can go: Fortnite, Knife and Fork, Dvandva, Fortnite Battle Royale. Unless there some reason one of them has an overwhelming claim of dominance over the others this is best left red since we can't really disambiguate misspellings. * Pppery * it has begun... 03:25, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- Knife and Fork is a disambiguation page mainly consisting of topics that include the exact phrase "Knife and Fork" or similar; nothing on that page (besides Fortnite) seems plausible for this search term. In Dvandva, this is a word-for-word gloss of an example in Greek, so not a plausible search term there either. In my opinion the only plausible targets are the Fortnite ones; I'm not sure which of them is better. Deleting would also be reasonable. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 04:04, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

Relisting comment: Per WP:CWW, attribution for the merge needs to survive in some form, no matter that the merge was reverted. This could come in the form of this redirect being kept and a note left on Talk:DuPage County, Illinois, or this redirect being deleted and a list of contributors being left there.

- No, any old revision has a disclaimer at the bottom of the page for this purpose (emphasis added):
This version of the page has been revised. Besides normal editing, the reason for revision may have been that this version contains factual inaccuracies, vandalism, or material not compatible with the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 License.
-- Tavix (talk) 23:59, 28 December 2024 (UTC)- Whilst removing unattributed content does prevent future harm, it does not resolve the underlying issue that when this content was in DuPage County, Illinois, its attribution was lacking. If the text was reused in another Wikipedia article or elsewhere on the Internet or in books, etc. whilst it was around, that presently remains a failure in attribution that is only worsened by the deletion of this redirect's history without recording it. WP:CWW presumably does not list now-unused content as an exception for reasons along these lines, and that is what editors have previously found AFAICR (previous discussion). - Comment: note page history – former article. Also note The Wikipedia Adventure/Portal. J947 ‡ edits 20:43, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. This is a good XNR. We should not expect total newbies, the demographic taking part in TWA, to understand namespaces at this point as editors. So this redirect is very helpful in both getting them where they want to go and perhaps even teaching them about namespaces. TWA is not mentioned in mainspace, but there is Wikipedia – The Text Adventure for which there may be some ambiguity. J947 ‡ edits 20:43, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. This is one of those rare times where we want someone who doesn't know what they're doing to fall into the interworkings of the Wikipedia. Since The Wikipedia Adventure is a tutorial, we can't assume someone knows about the different namespaces and how to use them. Someone searching this is undoubtedly looking for Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Adventure, so let's give it to them! The worst thing that can happen is someone finding a tutorial on how to edit Wikipedia (which is a good thing, right?). -- Tavix (talk) 22:14, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

- Note: I just created a list of this sort under List of federal lands in Alaska. This can be replicated, and expanded with the suggested categories of information. BD2412 T 14:52, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- But like the redirect target, the stub is missing national forests, BLM lands, military lands, etc.. Not opposed to creating list articles at these titles of course, but until someone wants to undertake making a comprehensive list, these should be red. Mdewman6 (talk) 21:37, 9 December 2024 (UTC)

- Delete all per nom. The newly created list basically duplicates List of the United States National Park System official units#Alaska and related pages, is wildly incomplete since there's far more than NPS areas, and incorrectly includes sites that are affiliated but not actually federal land; this should draftified or also deleted. I don't think these should be hastily made just for the sake of it. Some states instead have a related list of protected areas that includes state lands. Reywas92Talk 04:18, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

- Stuybbify/Listify per BD2412 above. Reywas92 above says that this duplicates the Park System article, but the whole point of this is that while there is overlap, this isn't an identical list-- federal lands include more areas than just the parks, although it will include the parks as well. - Delete all per Reywas92. Creating these lists would be time consuming given the multiplicity of types of federal lands. I agree that attempting to stubbify in order to resolve this RfD would be hasty. Letting these exist as redlinks would resolve the current problem of pointing to an overly specific target while alerting readers to the need to add content. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 16:02, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

- Yemen-Taizz → Kingdom of Yemen (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Taizz is not mentioned in Kingdom of Yemen, its current target. Taiz is a city in Yemen. This can be deleted due to ambiguity. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 15:56, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. Taizz is just an alternative spelling of Taiz, which was the capital of the kingdom. Pescavelho (talk) 16:15, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- Then why is it not targeting Taiz? Also, the title Yemen-Taizz is not mentioned in the article. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 08:08, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete I can't find evidence that "Yemen-Taizz" is or was used to refer to the kingdom, which is the pertinent question here IMO. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 19:02, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

- Delete per Presidentman. Clearly this name is an analogy to Congo-Brazzaville vs. Congo-Kinshasa, but in fact this kind of disambiguation convention was never used in the real world outside of those two cases. 59.149.117.119 (talk) 07:30, 4 January 2025 (UTC)

- It's not a single-day event. Hurricane Ian raged on both before and after this date. Just because it was the most important doesn't give it quite the case for a redirect. Delete. Departure– (talk) 15:34, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
Deleteper nom and Departure–. Redirect seems implicitly biased; this is not Floridapedia. Carguychris (talk) 16:01, 20 December 2024 (UTC)- Delete Doesn't really seem like a plausible search term for its subject. And there is no more reason for Hurricane Ian to be the target than any other article that was in ITN at the time. TornadoLGS (talk) 19:40, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

Redirect is alternate capitalization of the words video game, which is not even part of the title. Makes absolutely no sense. MimirIsSmart (talk) 06:21, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. Harmless {{R from other capitalisation}}. These are typically left over from a move though it's not the case with this one. Regardless, it's still a plausible redirect. CycloneYoris talk! 07:54, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. I was pinged here, as I created the redirect in 2013. I have no recollection of creating this, and I'm confused about why I did it purely as I've never edited the target article. I must have created it after seeing it as a red link somewhere. In any case, I agree it's harmless, and if it's still a plausible redirect, I'm in favour of keeping it. I'd like to retarget this to Shakespeare's sonnets. I made this change, but it was bot-reverted as vandalism. 101.119.76.69 (talk) 03:17, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- Retarget to Shakespeare's sonnets#Form and structure of the sonnets per nom. I'm surprised that this isn't a full article (like Petrarchan sonnet), but it's been a redirect since 2006, and the proposed target has our best (but still limited) information on the form.
