[edit]The Wikipedia Workshop in Mumbai aims to equip its participants with the rudiments of contributing to Wikipedia, and to introduce Wikipedia as an encyclopaedia and a concept to them. The workshop is free-of-cost and open to all.
About the workshop

The day-long workshop intends to teach Wikipedia, contributing to Wikipedia and editing its pages. Participants will interact with Wikipedians. This will provide them an opportunity to learn about Wikipedia in a bias-free, open environment. Wikipedia has become an invaluable destination for millions of Internet users seeking information. This is a general workshop for people interested in learning Wikipedia and making contribution to free knowledge and information.
Important information
[edit]- As the workshop involves hands-on learning about making contributions to and editing Wikipedia, participants are required to carry a mobile device (laptop, netbook, or tablet).
- We are using the English-language Wikipedia to instruct participants. Before attending the workshop, register on Wikipedia using the Create account link, if you don't have an account already.
- The venue has free Wi-Fi.

- Session 5: Participants split into groups
- Session 6: Hands-on editing by participants
- Session 7: 'Facts about Wikipedia'
