This is just to update on an upcoming visit to India by Erik Möller,Deputy Director,Wikimedia Foundation Danese Cooper , Chief Technical Officer, Wikimedia Foundation, Alolita Sharma , Engineering Programs Manager, Wikimedia Foundation.
The purpose of visit is fact-finding and outreach to India's engineering and open source community. The key questions they're hoping to explore include: localization issues concerning Indic languages, other MediaWiki improvements that would make Wikipedia more useful in India, improvements to mobile gateway, potential partners in developing and deploying offline versions of Wikimedia content.
They will, of course, also seek to meet with Wikimedians in the different cities they're visiting, including the chapter.
They have a very packed schedule of community meetups, presentations, and one-on-ones.
