  1. (obsolete) A portable breviary; a porteous.
    • 1823, John Nichols, The Progresses and Public Processions of Queen Elizabeth:
      The Queen's private devotions [] which she performed after the custom of her Religion out of her own portuary, with her beads and crucifix, sometimes in the Latin, and sometimes in the English tongue.
