For a fuller explanation, see FIX Simple Binary Encoding.

Protocol stack

SBE is part of a family of protocols created by the High Performance Working Group of the FIX Trading Community. SBE is a presentation layer protocol (layer 6).

Versions

Current approved version: 1.0 Release Candidate 4

Version 1.0 RC4 was approved by the Global Technical Committee on Feb. 18, 2016. The release candidate will be open for public review for a period of 90 days. Based on public feedback, a decision will then be made to either promote the candidate to final draft or to re-open it as another release candidate.

The RC4 specification is included here for reference only. Pull requests for this version will no longer be accepted. However, issues may be entered for corrections or enhancements to be considered for future releases.
