- [nitpick] The term “opening entity” may be unclear to users; consider renaming it to “open/close sensor entity” and replacing “appliance” with “device” for consistency with Home Assistant terminology. Also, “shows up as” could be rephrased to “appears as” for a more formal tone.
By default, the opening entity shows up as a generic binary sensor. You can manually change its *device class* (e.g. `door`, `window`) to better match the real appliance.
