Probably easiest to review this by commits - each closes a single issue.

And to make that happen: closes #683, closes #806, closes #451, closes #347.

https://nose.readthedocs.io now suggests using nose2, which
https://github.com/nose-devs/nose2 in turn has ceased feature
development due to the popularity of py.test.

Closes realpython#683
Link py2 docs to py3 docs.
Fix invisible subheading.
Note that pip is part of the Python install now; closes realpython#347.
Suggest avoiding eol 2.6 unless paid specifically.
