Getting Started

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have met the following requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of Dart and Flutter.

Installation

  1. Clone the Repository:

    git clone https://github.com/yourusername/hostel-attendance-app.git cd hostel-attendance-app

  2. Install Dependencies:

    flutter pub get

  3. Configure Firebase:

    • Create a new Firebase project.
    • Enable Firebase Authentication, Firestore, and Cloud Functions in your project.
    • Download and replace the google-services.json and GoogleService-Info.plist files in their respective directories.
  4. Run the App:

    flutter run

Usage

  1. User Registration: Users must register via the app, during which facial embeddings are created and stored securely.
  2. Marking Attendance: Users can mark attendance by scanning their face, provided they are within the hostel’s authorized Wi-Fi network and geolocation area.
  3. Admin Panel: Admins can view attendance records, analyze data, and manage users via a separate admin dashboard (optional implementation).
