The Thiebes-Stierlin Music Company of St.Louis was founded in 1894. It had two main divisions: piano manufacturing and music publishing. Their office was in an area (1000-1100 block of Olive) where there were no less than nine music companies just before the First World War. Rudolph Wurlitzer bought Thiebes-Stierlin in 1919.
