Antiinflammatoria nonsteroidalia, breve AINS sunt familia medicamentorum, quae per inhibitionem enzymorum cyclooxygenasium - deinde inhibitione synthesis prostaglandinorum effectus suos contra inflammationem (=anti-inflammativos) efficiunt.

Effectus adversi sunt nephropathiae, ulcera gastrointestinalia[1], reactiones allergicae (ut bronchoconstrictio, angiooedema, urticaria, dermatitis), etiam infarctus cordis[2].

Annis 1960 ineunte effectus adversarii glucocorticoidorum, quae tum saepe in inflammationes tractandi usa erant, cognoscebantur. Cum familia nova antiinflammatoriorum non-steroidalium medicina et pharmacologia fiduciam recuperari conabantur[3].
