Bushido (Iaponice 武士道 bushidou 'via bellatoris') est formula praeceptura vel disciplina equitis vel doctrina samurai qua fideles et honorem super mortem et peritum artis martialis esse exigit. Samurai qui perdit honorem redimere potest per mortem voluntariam ritualem appellatur seppuku. Habetur anima Iaponiae. In sermone hodierno inlatum est verbum in opera "Bushido:The Soul of Japan" ab Nitobe Inazō anno 1899.[1]
