Clitarchus (Graece Κλείταρχος; interdum "Colophonius" dictus e patris origine; interdum "Alexandrinus", sed et "Aeolensis"[1]), rerum gestarum scriptor Graecus saeculi 3 a.C.n. ineuntis, fuit filius Dinonis Colophonii qui de Imperio Persarum scripserat.[2] Clitarchus in aula Ptolemaei, Alexandri satrapae et Aegypti regis, vixisse censetur. Clitarchus fuit auctor operis seu de vita Alexandri Macedonis seu de rebus a sectatoribus Alexandri gestis et visis. Huius operis fragmenta fere 30 nominatim supersunt; censetur et alias res ab historicis Alexandri Magni narratis ex opere Clitarchi haustas.
