Rechtsform=Non-Profit-Organisation

Hallo NGOgo,

wenn ein Verein wie z.B. der Q105194137 schon als P31:Q163740 getaggt ist – was bringt das Hinzufügen von P1454:Q163740 dann? Wenn es eine konkretere Rechtsform mit Quelle gibt, auf jeden Fall. Für Griechenland sind die Rechtsformen aber z. B. noch nicht ordentlich angelegt (ich hätte die Liste der Rechtsformen nach ISO 20275 (Q106152815), falls du Griechisch kannst). Ich gehe aber mit Wikidata:WikiProject Nonprofit Organizations, langsam Land für Land durch und versuche dann auch die nicht landesspezifischen Rechtsformen zu ersetzen/ergänzen. Technisch, weil nonprofit organization (Q163740) als instance of (P31) eine Rechtsform ist und es hier einen Match im Datensatz gibt. Inhaltlich, weil es Selektionen erleichtert, weil die Unterklassen von P31 chaotisch sind. Bei den großen Ländern wie Griechenland können wir es aber gerne rausnehmen, wenn es dich stört. Bei Ländern wie Weißrussland oder Kuba kommt man manchmal sonst nicht weiter. Schöne Grüße NGOgo (talk) 13:00, 10 August 2024 (UTC)

Self-referencing statements with P159

There is the special issue I didn't recognise that Finland has a special legal type for its municipalities municipality of Finland (Q856076) and they are registered in the company register (Patentti- ja Rekisterihallitus), though the items have a LEI-Code i.e. Turku. @Vanbasten 23: It is a classification of non-profit-organizations to be able to select all organizations of a type by their field of work. Here is a list of all categories by the "industry classification for nonprofit organization". Since Q6073839 is a sports club (Q847017) the field of work is sport. Why do you think it's not useful? First of all, if it is a classification of non-profit-organizations, why are you interpreting that all sports clubs are non-profit? Second, if we already have an instance "sports club" and sport "X", what you are putting is taken for granted, so I think you are duplicating the information. sports club (Q847017) is a subclass of NGO, so no interpretation there. But it shows a problem with instance of (P31). In that case, sporting activities (Q124022875) is also a classification for non-NGOs (International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities). I also see no assuming, when stating that a sporting association is doing sports.

But in a way you are right, it is in parts duplicating information. However, it helps enormously, when looking at a whole sector. On the one hand, because industry (P452) is standardized, unlike the use of instance of (P31). On the other hand, because it allows comparison and apportionment for whole sectors. So I guess it's two different ways of selecting inside of wikidata, like with The Coca-Cola Company (Q3295867) and other companies having a industry and a instance of.
