I was told that Draft: Kevin Trudeau's Global Information Network (GIN) had a potential copyright violation. Please let me know what part was flagged so it can be fixed. Grad0507 (talk) 13:40, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

There are a lot of quotations, which often trigger a false positive. Diannaa (talk) 21:25, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

hmong.es/wiki/

[edit]

I'm seeing several instances where hmong.es/wiki/ is being flagged as having been the source for possible plagiarism. The site itself is offline and the URL is for sale, but checking in the Wayback Machine, it looks like the site was republishing/reskinning Wikipedia articles. Based on what I can tell, these are false positives and not actual copyright violations. —Tcr25 (talk) 22:02, 5 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Tcr25 Pretty sure that's what User:CopyPatrolBot/UrlIgnoreList is for. From what I see MusikAnimal has added sites like that one to the list in the past. Nobody (talk) 10:12, 6 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I've added it there. —Tcr25 (talk) 13:13, 6 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Michael Oldstone (on en-wiki)

[edit]

Is there a problem with this? I added a one-and-a-half-sentence quotation from a two-page obituary. I can trim it if necessary, but it seems ok to me. Espresso Addict (talk) 22:45, 12 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Espresso Addict As long as it's sourced and not WP:OVERQUOTING it should be fine. Nobody (talk) 06:49, 15 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Search for reports involving a specific user

[edit]

It'd be nice to be able to look at how many times someone appears at Patrol, like how we can search for reviews done by a specific user. Sennecaster (talk) 02:42, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Capture of Višegrad (1992)

[edit]

This has been tagged. It isn't a copyright violation, as it is a close paraphrase of a US federal government publication that is ineligible for copyright. Its use has been attributed. The source is Balkan Battlegrounds published by the CIA. Only the extracts reprinted from The Death of Yugoslavia are copyrighted. See this. If there is a whitelist, please add this and its companion volume here Thanks, Peacemaker67 (talk) 01:43, 6 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Peacemaker67 I've added {{Source-attribution}} to the article and marked the report as fixed. Nobody (talk) 07:28, 6 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Copypatrol down?

[edit]

I reloaded the page today and there's no cases? enL3X1 ¡‹delayed reaction›¡ 15:15, 29 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

We are caught up! This is happening more frequently since Template:CopyPatrol open reports was created by 1AmNobody24 (thank you, 1AmNobody24!). You can confirm that the bot is running by viewing "All cases" instead of "Open cases". Diannaa (talk) 18:51, 29 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Big credit goes to JJMC89 for working on task T334264. Nobody (talk) 06:38, 2 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
