How do I get to Put-in-Bay?
Miller Ferries offer passenger and vehicle service to Put-in-Bay (South Bass Island) or Middle Bass Island, Ohio.

How do I get to Miller Ferry?
Miller Ferries depart from Catawba, end of OH-53 North.

How much does the Miller Ferry cost?
Put-in-Bay Fares are Adult $9.00 each way, Child (6-11 yrs) $1.50 each way, Child (under 6 yrs) Free, Bicycle $2.50 each way, Vehicle $23.00 each way, and Motorcycle $16.00 each way.

Middle Bass Fares are Adult $11.50 each way, Child (6-11 yrs) $3.00 each way, Child (under 6 yrs) Free, Bicycle $3.50 each way, Vehicle $30.00 each way, and Motorcycle $22.50 each way.

Is the Miller Ferry running today?
Miller Ferries run daily service to Put-in-Bay and Middle Bass Island during Spring, Summer and Fall. In inclement weather, trip updates are posted at MillerFerry.com.

How long is the Miller Ferry ride?
The Put-in-Bay Ferry trip is under 20 minutes.
The Middle Bass Ferry trip is 40 minutes.

Where does the Miller Ferry drop off?
Miller Ferry drops off at the Put-in-Bay Lime Kiln Dock, which is two miles from downtown. If you travel without a vehicle, you can rent a golf cart or bicycle, take the bus or taxi, or walk.

Can I get assistance on and off the ferry?
Yes, if you need assistance boarding please let the staff at our Catawba ticket booth know. A golf cart will help you board the ferry. There are folding chairs toward the stern (back) of the boat on the lower deck. When the ferry arrives at Put-in-Bay, there is a hill when you disembark. For assistance, please ask one of our deck hands and they will have a golf cart transport you to the top of the dock where you can find golf cart rentals, taxi and bus services.

Are cars allowed on Put-in-Bay?
Yes. If you are visiting for a day trip, you have the option of parking your vehicle on the mainland and coming as a foot passenger. If you wish to bring a vehicle, please note the Vehicle Guidelines.

Are dogs allowed aboard Miller Ferry?
Yes. Pets are welcome aboard the Miller Ferry and travel for free. They must be kept on a leash or cage and stay on the lower deck. Several outdoor sites and restaurant patios at Put-in-Bay are pet friendly.

Does the ferry run in the rain?
Yes. During high winds schedules are subject to change or can be canceled without notice. For updates during inclement weather call 800-500-2421, see MillerFerry.com or visit Facebook and Twitter.

Does Miller Ferry run year round?
Miller Ferry operations generally begin during spring lake thaw and run until weather permits or winter lake freeze. If we operate beyond the print schedule we will post times on the home page of MillerFerry.com or you can call our office at 800-500-2421.

Day Visitors – If your getaway is for the day, we suggest you come aboard as a passenger and leave your vehicle parked on the mainland in one of our free parking areas.

How do I get around without a car?
Your transportation choices on Put-in-Bay include golf carts, bicycles, taxis, bus service between the Miller Lime Kiln Dock and downtown, and the Island Tour Train narrated tour. The two miles between the Miller Lime Kiln Dock and downtown have a bike path. For island discounts, present coupons from your mobile phone or print out in advance.

Passengers in Wheelchairs – Your options include bringing your vehicle or boarding as a passenger. If you board as a passenger in a wheelchair, please let the staff at the ticket booth know that you would like assistance. Each ferry has a boarding ramp and passengers in wheelchairs can ride on the lower deck. Please note, the M/V Mary Ann Market is the only ferry with an enclosed lower deck cabin. None of our ferries have wheelchair accessible restrooms aboard. The Put-in-Bay ferry dock is two miles from downtown. Please call our office at 800-500-2421 for suggestions on traveling with a wheelchair.

Worship Services – Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Catawba Ave., Put-in-Bay. Saint John’s at the Bay Lutheran. Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, Catawba Ave., Put-in-Bay. Middle Bass Island Town Hall.

Island Amenities – Put-in-Bay and Middle Bass Island each have a grocery store and beverage carry out. Put-in-Bay also has a hardware store, library, gas station and post office. There is no pharmacy.

ATMs and Credit Cards – Each ferry dock has an ATM machine next to the restrooms and gift shops. We accept credit cards including Master Card, Visa, American Express and Discover.

Medical Issues or Emergencies – Put-in-Bay EMS & Mercy Health Medical Center is located at 528 Catawba Ave., Put-in-Bay. The emergency contact number for fire and police is 911. The non-emergency police number is 419-285-3962.
