Andrey Korotayev

Andrey Korotayev (Moska, 17 ta' Frar 1961) huwa antropologu, ekonomista, storiku u soċjologu Russu, li ta kontribut kbir f'mudelli matematiċi tad-dinamika soċjali u l-ekonomika. Huwa għamel kontribuzzjonijiet importanti fl-istudju tal-istorja tal-Lvant Nofsani bl-qasam mill-iskoperta tax-xejriet ewlenin tal-iżvilupp tal-kultura tal-Jemen permezz tal-applikazzjoni ta' metodi kwantitattivi għall-analiżi ta' sorsi epigrafiċi. Hu magħruf ukoll għall-kontribuzzjonijiet tiegħu fit-teorija tal-evoluzzjoni soċjali.^[1] Barra minn hekk, Korotayev għamlet kontribut sinifikanti għall-istudju tal-oriġini tal-Islam.^[2]

Iggradwa mill-Università ta' Moska fl-1984. Huwa direttur taċ-Ċentru tal-Antropoloġija tal-Lvant f'Moska.^[3]
