Harald zur Hausen

Harald zur Hausen (11 March 1936 – 28 May 2023) was a German virologist and professor.[1] He won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2008 for his discoveries on the role of papilloma viruses which he shared with Luc Montagnier and Françoise Barré-Sinoussi.[2]

He was born in Gelsenkirchen. Zur Hausen died on 28 May 2023 in Heidelberg, Germany, at the age of 87.[3][4]
