Jean Mavis Hodgkinson (11 October 1926 – 14 October 2016), known by the stage name Jean Alexander, was an award-winning English actress. She achieved critical acclaim for her portrayal of Hilda Ogden in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street from 1964 to 1987. She was also known for her role as Auntie Wainwright in the BBC One sitcom Last of the Summer Wine from 1988 to 1989, and again from 1992 to 2010. She worked as an actress for more than 60 years.

Alexander celebrated her 90th birthday on 11 October 2016, but became ill and died three days later in Southport Hospital.
