Fight vandalism
[edit]Hey,
I hope I was allowed to block this user, after that Edit I thaught he won't find the right way anymore. Additionally, he had problems here; he was admin and blocked a trusted user. --Draht01 (talk) 17:09, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Looks fine. Tiptoety (talk) 05:00, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
Bureaucrat status
[edit]Hi sir! Please, I like status bureaucrat here, especially since you are active almost all day, thanks and good day; --Mr. man (talk) 20:04, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- If you need test administrative tools please see here, sysop status here is only temporary for developers test and other settings. We have a lot of crats and this wiki is not a content project, please see WP:NOT. Regards @lestaty discuţie 21:53, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, at this time I am going to have to decline giving you 'crat rights. Tiptoety (talk) 22:15, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Delete request
[edit]Hi, can you delete User:Rose formula/Api.js please? I can't add the delete template to it. Thanks. — Rose formula (talk) 19:10, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- Done (hope you don't mind, Tiptoety :-). Mentifisto (talk) 19:26, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Hiya Tiptoety
[edit]Is it possible to get CheckUser and Oversight on this wiki, I'd like to see what these userrights are like since I'm going to use the MediaWiki software on a website when I purchase the domain etc. If not then thanks for your time :D Fridae'§Doom | Spare your time? 09:56, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- No, those tools are not available for testing on this wiki, for a list of non-wikimedia foundation wikis where you can test certian tools please see Wikipedia:Requests/Tools. Tiptoety (talk) 17:38, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- Ok thanks! :D Fridae'§Doom | Spare your time? 06:24, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
ok
[edit]I now have a temporary adminship on a Wikimedia project. Am I able to apply again? I-20 (talk) 21:02, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- What project? Tiptoety (talk) 22:02, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- Jbo.Wiktionary. Diego Grez (talk) 22:12, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, you are able to re-apply, but you need to have a legitimate purpose for needing the tools. Tiptoety (talk) 00:26, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I-20 (talk) 00:46, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Bureaucratship
[edit]I would specifically like to test a function on the user renaming system. That is why I requested 'crat rights. I will ask for them to be removed once my testing is done. Thank you. Joe Gazz84 (talk) 17:00, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
- Done - Please request removal once you are done. Tiptoety (talk) 03:35, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
- Tiptoey, how can I become a permanent 'crat here and assist with other things when I am done testing? I actually only see a few real 'crats here. I would like to help with requests for sysop and I am going to be testing continuously. Joe Gazz84 (talk) 13:50, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
- Go ahead and request that your 'crat bit be removed on meta then come back and file a local request to have a permanent bit. That said, we really do not need more local 'crats. Tiptoety (talk) 19:55, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Glad you noticed that
we really do not need more local 'crats
, Tiptoety. I hope you saw this: I was declined by Devunt, because
we have enough bureaucrat to resolve requests
so I responded
I wasn't aware of that, as my RfA took a long time to be noticed by a crat.
. I am on the Test Wikipedia very often, but I can only do what I can :( - test and limitedly maintain. Of cource, I also want to assist with the 'crat duties. It is a bit discouraging to have all these bureaucrats, most of which haven't edited in a long time, and users have to wait a long time, sometimes, for their request to be handled. It is also discouraging to get a such response as
we have enough bureaucrat to resolve requests
, when most of them don't do a thing, not even a regullar test every now and then. Hazard-SJ (talk) 15:42, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hey Hazard, if you want to fight all over again that you want the bureaucrat rights, do not mention me. Okay? I'm not responsible for the use of my words by this person. Diego Grez (talk) 15:46, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
- I removed the quotes with what you said, if it makes you more comfortable. Hazard-SJ (talk) 16:01, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
Bureaucrat
[edit]May I please get my 'crat back? I am going to be testing the new Huggle2 with Petrb and we need bureaucrat to test the other 'crat features on it. This was the sole reason why I requested it in September, now that the tool has the bugs worked out and is being tested here I need this bit still, please consent me next time prior to requesting removal of my rights. Thank you. Joe Gazz84 (talk) 14:12, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
- Let me oppose this move. We saw how you used your access "just for testing". Your general attitude on this project (see for exemple [1][2][3]) just comfort my opinion. -- Quentinv57 (talk) 16:26, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
- Because Tiptoey was the original one to grant the right, so I came back to ask for it back since the user was the one to ask for its removal. There was some issues getting the Huggle2 started but now it is and needs to be tested with the bureaucrat functions. The IRC was because Andrew has threatened to change it on IRC (he was TE staff, not anymore) so I stated that is non-negotiable. I specifically asked to leave messages on my WP talkpage and didn't feel that it is hard to follow that. I marked as stale since it was about 1 month old and the request was not likely to be updated, I am sorry if I used stale in the wrong purpose. I am sorry for those as they may come across mean and not-kind. With the continuation of the right I will gladly change the attitude. Joe Gazz84 (talk) 20:26, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with Quentinv57 in this case. Sorry. Tofutwitch11 (talk) 20:53, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, I have to agree here. You were not using the 'crat tools to "test" anything like you lead on in your request, and many of your 'crat promotions were questionable. I am going to decline your request. Also, this message is in poor taste. You made the 'crat action here, you need to be able and willing to answer for it here. Tiptoety (talk) 02:23, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- It is okay, I understand your concern, That action was a bad one, I will admit to that. We all have off days. The page specifically asked to leave messages on my enwp page, so I thought you would have done so. I should and in the future will reword my comments to sound more appropriate and be kinder to the community. However, I was not informed of promotions policies, now I am. I need 'crat tools because I would and need to help test the development version of huggle 2 here. Please reconsider. Joe Gazz84 (talk) 15:13, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
- Joe, keep in mind that this is the test Wikipedia, and things going on at test, should be discussed on user talk pages at test, not EN. Tofutwitch11 (talk) 16:12, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Status
[edit]Hey, can I have my status back if possible. I have returned from my wikivacation. Thanks. I intend to test a few tools here and would like to read deleted content in particular to machine learn from whats deleted such as spam, vandalism and etc. -- Cat chi? 09:42, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

An important message about renaming users
[edit]Dear Tiptoety,
I am cross-posting this message to many places to make sure everyone who is a Wikimedia Foundation project bureaucrat receives a copy. If you are a bureaucrat on more than one wiki, you will receive this message on each wiki where you are a bureaucrat.
As you may have seen, work to perform the Wikimedia cluster-wide single-user login finalisation (SUL finalisation) is taking place. This may potentially effect your work as a local bureaucrat, so please read this message carefully.
Why is this happening? As currently stated at the global rename policy, a global account is a name linked to a single user across all Wikimedia wikis, with local accounts unified into a global collection. Previously, the only way to rename a unified user was to individually rename every local account. This was an extremely difficult and time-consuming task, both for stewards and for the users who had to initiate discussions with local bureaucrats (who perform local renames to date) on every wiki with available bureaucrats. The process took a very long time, since it's difficult to coordinate crosswiki renames among the projects and bureaucrats involved in individual projects.
The SUL finalisation will be taking place in stages, and one of the first stages will be to turn off Special:RenameUser locally. This needs to be done as soon as possible, on advice and input from Stewards and engineers for the project, so that no more accounts that are unified globally are broken by a local rename to usurp the global account name. Once this is done, the process of global name unification can begin. The date that has been chosen to turn off local renaming and shift over to entirely global renaming is 15 September 2014, or three weeks time from now. In place of local renames is a new tool, hosted on Meta, that allows for global renames on all wikis where the name is not registered will be deployed.
Your help is greatly needed during this process and going forward in the future if, as a bureaucrat, renaming users is something that you do or have an interest in participating in. The Wikimedia Stewards have set up, and are in charge of, a new community usergroup on Meta in order to share knowledge and work together on renaming accounts globally, called Global renamers. Stewards are in the process of creating documentation to help global renamers to get used to and learn more about global accounts and tools and Meta in general as well as the application format. As transparency is a valuable thing in our movement, the Stewards would like to have at least a brief public application period. If you are an experienced renamer as a local bureaucrat, the process of becoming a part of this group could take as little as 24 hours to complete. You, as a bureaucrat, should be able to apply for the global renamer right on Meta by the requests for global permissions page on 1 September, a week from now.
In the meantime please update your local page where users request renames to reflect this move to global renaming, and if there is a rename request and the user has edited more than one wiki with the name, please send them to the request page for a global rename.
Stewards greatly appreciate the trust local communities have in you and want to make this transition as easy as possible so that the two groups can start working together to ensure everyone has a unique login identity across Wikimedia projects. Completing this project will allow for long-desired universal tools like a global watchlist, global notifications and many, many more features to make work easier.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns about the SUL finalisation, read over the Help:Unified login page on Meta and leave a note on the talk page there, or on the talk page for global renamers. You can also contact me on my talk page on meta if you would like. I'm working as a bridge between Wikimedia Foundation Engineering and Product Development, Wikimedia Stewards, and you to assure that SUL finalisation goes as smoothly as possible; this is a community-driven process and I encourage you to work with the Stewards for our communities.
Thank you for your time. -- Keegan (WMF) talk 18:24, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
