The α Matrix (α (アルファ)マトリクス Arufa Matorikusu), also known as the Blue Matrix (ブルーマトリクス Burū Matorikusu), is the vessel of the Blue Star Power, one of the Seven Lights of creation of the Precursor World. It is entrusted to the leader of the Blue Order of the Primus Vanguard. In times of conflict, it is placed in the hilt of the Matrix Sword to create a blade of overwhelming power.

Precursor World

Upon his death, Blue Brightes Convoy bequeathed the α Matrix and Matrix Sword to Big, declaring him his successor, Blue Big Convoy. Finale Prelude

Big used the energies of the α Matrix in battle with the Vanguard's ancient enemies the Specters and combined it with the Matrix Sword to create a beacon for the Sentinel Armada in the battle's aftermath. Blue Big Convoy comic In the final battle with the Specters, Big unleashed the α Matrix's Star Power along with the other six Lights to annihilate the Specters, which had the secondary effect of combining their multiverse into a single multicolored world.

Later, Primus, driven mad by grim visions of an apocalyptic future, demanded the Blue Matrix so that he might destroy the universe; Big declined, but remained impassively by Primus's side. Finale Prelude

When Optimus Prime battled Ultra Megatron on the Blue Planet, Big appeared to support Star Convoy and gave him the α Matrix to heal his wounds. Big quickly took his Matrix back so that he could use it to directly parry Megatron's Silver Matrix. However, the clash allowed Megatron to absorb the α Matrix's Blue Star Power, transforming him into Ultra Megatron Omega. Super Megatron comic 2 The α Matrix's Blue Star Power within the Silver Matrix would eventually transfer hands to Primus, who almost used it in conjunction with the other six Star Powers to end the universe, Finale Prelude and then to Gold Megatron, who used the seven Star Powers to create the New Primus Vanguard and form the Gold Matrix. Legends Blue Big Convoy came with an Energon Matrix that was used to represent the α Matrix.

The 5mm hole in its back allows the owner to reproduce the combination with the Matrix Sword seen in its various comics appearances, should they own a Legends Magna Convoy.
