Air Hammer (BW)
From Transformers Wiki
This article is about the Beast Wars character. For the Cyberverse species, see Air Hammer (Cyberverse). |
- Air Hammer is a Maximal from the Beast Wars portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Air Hammer is all about speed. As at home in water as in the air he's just about the fastest creature you'll find in either realm. Combine that with the eyesight of a hawk and you've got a recon specialist without peer. Personally, however, the first impression to strike an observer would likely be one of stillness. He is a robot of few words and few unnecessary expressions or even movements, always watching and thinking but never showing what's inside, at least not until he acts quickly and decisively on it. He's not unfriendly, really, but his quiet, overly thoughtful and taciturn nature can give others that impression. Still, his actions in combat have made him quite popular with his Maximal comrades.[1]

During the final battle with Shokaract, several realities converged into a single, apocalyptic timestorm. Beast Warriors from alternate realities emerged, including Air Hammer, B'Boom, Drill Bit, Transquito, Polar Claw, and unidentified others, though all of them were summarily blown to bits. Luckily for Air Hammer, the timeline bonked out of existence, making the events with Shokaract null. Terminus

Shortly after the ratification of the Pax Cybertronia, Air Hammer was walking around on Cybertron. Dawn of the Predacus
Air Hammer was one of many protoforms held aboard the Axalon when it left Cybertron. His stasis pod had a tumultuous time, cast into orbit as the ship crashed before crashing in turn himself as the transwarp explosion shook the pods out of space. He was not reactivated during the main Beast Wars, however, but by the newly arrived Magmatron. Magmatron sought a new army of Predacons to conquer Cybertron in the presence, and rigged an activation signal to bring all the scattered pods on-line, using a remote Predacon shell program to alter the Maximals within. Air Hammer and many others were spared this fate by the Maximal turncoat in Magmatron's midst, a member of the Pack named Razorbeast.
Air Hammer was activated as a Fuzor, like several others, and quickly joined forces with his fellow flying Maximals Prowl, Night Glider, and Sonar. The Gathering #2 They united with Razorbeast's guerilla fighters, Torca's militia, and the other scattered Maximals to bust some Pred-heads. They routed Magmatron's forces and began to fortify their position, while waiting for some word from the future in response to a transwarp signal SOS Razorbeast got out. The Gathering #4
The Predacons grew more desperate as the primary Beast Wars between Optimus Primal and Megatron drew to a conclusion. They attacked Razorbeast's Maximal camp, and Air Hammer fought hard against the villains. The Ascending #1 He was engaged in some aerial dogfighting with Lazorbeak when the Pack arrived from the future. The Ascending #2 The Maximals and Predacons were forced to unite against the more dangerous threat of the Blendtrons, Heralds of Unicron. Air Hammer flew in to meet the enemy head-on...literally...as he hammerheaded Rartorata in the skull. The Ascending #3 The Pack's ship brought Air Hammer and a contingent of Maximals and Predacons back to Cybertron to confront Unicron's puppet, Shokaract. Half his flying squad was taken out by the creature's immense firepower. The Ascending #4
