Airazor (Armada)
From Transformers Wiki
The name or term "Airazor" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Airazor (disambiguation). |
- Airazor is an Autobot, and later the Horseman Death, from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy.
Airazor is pure professionalism. She always keeps her cool, and never wastes words, actions or ammo. In battle she's precise and persistent, a crack shot and an ace flier. She gives her all and does it without complaint, or even comment.
Because of this, many consider her to be cold and impersonal. In reality, she's very compassionate; she just believes she must work her hardest to defeat the Decepticons, who threaten everything and everyone she cares about, so she pushes herself to the limit. Keeping professional about her tasks keeps her strong, Airazor feels.
This attitude seems to have had an unintended side effect on her Mini-Con partner Nightscream. An utterly undisciplined malcontent and pest to everyone else, Nightscream actually snaps to and gets his slag together whenever things get hairy and Airazor is in the middle of it.

Ten years later she returned: resurrected as one of the Chaos Bringer's Four Horsemen. This Evil Reborn Airazor was empowered as the Horseman of Death. She and her twisted brethren were sent to Cybertron to delay the Autobots from travelling to Earth, and waged a brutal battle against them. What Lies Beneath They might have been successful, until Optimus Prime made contact with Over-Run and tapped into the Spark of Combination. Faced with Prime's newly empowered warriors and the energon-manipulating Omnicons, Airazor and the Horsemen retreated from Cybertron. What Lies Beneath, Part Two The Four Horsemen regrouped within Unicron with Alpha Quintesson, and observed the Terrorcons fail on their own mission against the Autobots and Omnicons. What Lies Beneath, Part Four
Airazor and the Horsemen continued to do the bidding of Alpha Quintesson as months passed. Doomsday Redux! Still, they became suspicious over time as to whether Alpha Quintesson actually spoke for Unicron's wishes. In order to keep them busy, the Quintesson distracted them with an attack on the Autobots' Mars base. Armageddon Part 2 By breaking through Mars's defenses, the Horsemen planned to bring down Earth's defensive shield for their master's return. Armageddon Part 3 Unfortunately for their plan, the Autobots unleashed Omega Supreme to defend the Mars base from further attack. Armageddon Part 4 Omega Supreme was victorious in battle against Airazor and the Four Horsemen. Armageddon Part 5

Armada

- Airazor with Nightscream (Super-Con, 2003)
- Takara release date: July 5, 2003
- Known designers: Marcelo Matere (packaging artist)
- Released in the sixth wave of Armada Super-Cons, Airazor is a redeco and retooling of the Deluxe Transmetal version of Beast Wars Airazor, transforming into a robotic falcon. She has a third semi-vehicle mode, her wings partially unfolding into a pontoon-plane-like configuration. She was given Powerlinx plugs on her wings which do not activate any features (as she doesn't really have any), but are painted with "energy burst" effects.
- Bizarrely enough, she has a molded Decepticon sigil on her back, normally hidden in both modes. According to Aaron Archer, this was not on any Hasbro plans and just how it got on there is unknown. Archer suggested that perhaps she was a spy - though he did not elaborate for which side, and at any rate this was conjecture to cover what seems to have been a design accident. He also said that the paint on the figure's chest was a "power effect" from Nightscream.[1]
- She came with her Mini-Con partner Nightscream.
- As a hasty addition to the Armada toyline to meet demand, Airazor was not available in Takara's normal retail Legend of the Microns line. She was, however, offered in Japan as a "USA Edition" release, exclusive to Toys"R"Us stores.
