Dash (G1)
From Transformers Wiki
The name or term "Dash" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Dash (disambiguation). |
- Dash is an Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Known as the Multiforce's "Warrior of the Sun", Dash (ダッシュ Dasshu) gives team leader Wing a run for his money in the impulsiveness department. He's always rarin' to go, whether it's to charge into battle or taking to the highways of Earth to gather intelligence for his teammates. He's particularly fond of the latter, as it lets him really cruise along at top speed for long periods of time. And with his ability to draw in and channel solar energy, Dash is always running hot.
Which makes it all the more surprising how well he gets along with his usual partner, the tactful Tacker. Their differing styles come together quite well, especially in their combined form as Dashtacker.

Micromaster
While testing out stealth technology, Dash and the rest of the Multiforce stumbled through a dimensional rift that brought them to years into the past. There, Micromasters battled over Mount St. Hillary, where Optimus Prime, Megatron, and their troops slumbered within the Ark. Before Wing could introduce him to the local Autobots, the Multiforce had to head out to meet a Decepticon threat. He combined with Tacker to form Dashtacker and helped taking on the Decepticon Sixbuilders. Dash then combined with the rest of the Multiforce into Landcross to send Berserker Sixwing packing. The Menace of Landcross's Combining Formation!
Ask Vector Prime
The Multiforce followed the normal flow of time to return to their native period, making sure to not interfere with events they knew had to transpire. To this end, they avoided the other Transformers and explored the Skomiloch Territories and clashed with the Predators. Their journey enabled them to be able to stop the Praetorian from using the corrupted Reconfiguration Matrix to rewrite all robotic life in the Vega Sector into loyal Scrapmetal. Victory comic
The Multiforce was summoned to Earth by Star Saber and battled Dinoking as Landcross. After defeating Dinoking, Landcross separated in order to swarm Deathsaurus with superior numbers. So Cool! Our Ally, Star Saber!
After having lost a battle to Deathsaurus as Landcross, and being subsequently rescued by Star Saber, Dash helped rescue the animals hurt by the forest fire caused by the Decepticon Emperor. Great Reversal! Star Saber
Dash also fought against the Decepticons inside their space base as it was raining down meteors onto the Earth. The war ended peacefully with a truce between both factions. The Grand Victory War
Toys
Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers
- Dashtacker (Multiforce, 1989)
- ID number: C-317
- Accessories: "Multi-Dash Gun", "Punch Part A" Landcross right fist
- Known designers: Kōjin Ōno (TakaraTomy)
- Sold in a two-pack with his partner Tacker in the Victory portion of Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers toyline, Dash transforms into a red "super car" of unknown model, bearing a vague resemblance to a Nissan R32 Skyline GT-R with rally racing modifications. In car mode, he can mount Landcross's fist on his roof as an artillery turret. (The fist also provides a place for his Multi-Dash Gun to go in vehicle mode, giving him even more firepower.)
- He can also transform into either the upper or lower half of a two-robot combiner, though his nominal combination is with his pack-in partner Tacker, forming the top half of Dashtacker.
- He can also also form any limb to Landcross, with his default placement as the right arm. If used as a leg, Mach needs to be used as the other leg, otherwise the two legs will be very different lengths. In theory he can also form part of the super robot torso (as the entire team shares the same general engineering and transformation scheme), but he lacks the proper connections to attach limb-bots or super robot armor.
- In 1995, the three Multiforce two-packs were released in mainland China as part of the severely-delayed Hasbro-distributed Chinese Transformers toyline. They came in slightly-modified versions of their original packaging, with the characters' names now written in Chinese, and the Japanese Transformers logo replaced with a similarly styled Chinese language logo saying "Battles of Victory" (胜利之斗争). They toys themselves are also slightly modified, with their molded-on legal/manufacturing information blotted out and modified to remove Takara's name.
- Landcross (Gift set, 1989)
- ID number: C-319
- Accessories: "Multi-Dash Gun", "Punch Part A" Landcross right fist
- Known designers: Kōjin Ōno (TakaraTomy)
- Dash was also available in a gift set containing the entire Multiforce team. All of the toys in this set are physically identical to their individual releases.
- However, this set does not include the bio/trading cards for any of the component duos, only the combined Landcross mode.
Micromaster
- Dash (DX Micromaster, 2004)
- Multiforce number: 3
- Accessories: "Multi-Dash Gun", "Punch Part A" Landcross right fist
- Released in the final wave of Micromaster as a "DX Micromaster", this reissue of Dash was sold in a single-bot box. The box has a small hole in the front to show a number printed on the instructions, revealing which toy is inside.
- Though this release (mostly) retains his plastic colors (the black joints are now dark gunmetal), his extra deco has changed. In robot mode, his torso-sticker is smaller, omitting the lower half entirely, and now red instead of black. His two robot-mode faces now feature thicker paint, as well as blue optics. In car mode, his windows are now black, and an Autobot symbol has been added to his passenger-side roof.
- Dash Stealth Mode (DX Micromaster, 2004)
- Multiforce number: 3
- Accessories: "Multi-Dash Gun", "Punch Part A" Landcross right fist
- A special "chase" version of Dash was also available, in mostly black plastic and minimal paint operations; though Dash retains his chest sticker, the colors on it have changed.
- All six members were available in "stealth mode", but only two out of every twelve toys in a case were black versions, and which two the case had was randomized. And no, you can't peek in through the hole in the box to see if it's a chase or not, as the instructions block it off.
