Decepticon supersoldier
From Transformers Wiki

- The Decepticon supersoldiers are Decepticons from the Cyberverse continuity family.
Through Vector Sigma, it is possible to program the Allspark to produce a custom-designed Transformer or indeed multiple Transformers. And there is no better example of this than the Decepticon supersoldiers. Described as a "perfect Decepticon race", these unflinching, unquestioning, and almost animalistic troops live only to serve their master, programmed with no desires of their own.

During the Great War, Vector Sigma was seized by the Decepticons, with Shockwave being tasked with hacking through its security. When Bumblebee was caught spying on the scientist, he was brought to Megatron, who revealed that he intended to have the Allspark produce him a new Decepticon race. Megatron Is My Hero
Some 66 million years later, after Starscream stole the Allspark. The Autobots, unaware of the Seeker's defection from the Decepticons, feared that Megatron would use it to create his warriors, leading them to launch an assault on the Nemesis to seize the artifact. Dark Birth
Soon afterward, after destroying the Ark with a laser snare, Battle For Cybertron I Megatron planned to fish the Allspark out of the wreckage and create his warriors; However, he quickly discovered the Autobots had evacuated with the Allspark before the attack. Battle For Cybertron II The destruction of Vector Sigma in the subsequent battle thoroughly undid any chance of Megatron creating his perfect soldiers. Battle For Cybertron IV
Alternate universe
- Voice actor: Ryan Nicolls (English)
In another reality, Megatron killed Optimus Prime in the early stages of the war, claiming the Matrix of Leadership for himself before wiping out the Autobots. Once all resistance had been eliminated, "Megatron X" created his perfect race of warriors and rid himself of the "unnecessary" Decepticons until only a handful remained, including Astrotrain and the Insecticons. The Other One
When the main timeline's Megatron appeared on the Cybertron of this timeline and stole Megatron X's Matrix, Megatron X dispatched his supersoldiers to the other reality as an advance guard. Silent Strike Proving more than a match for the Autobots and Decepticons, they were defeated only by multiversal energy. A second wave was sent soon afterward, but they were unceremoniously blasted into unspace by the native Megatron. Megatron X teleported in and reclaimed his Matrix, but before he could re-insert it into himself, the talisman was plucked by an escaping Bumblebee. Several supersoldiers teleported in to try and retrieve the artifact, only to be tackled down by the native Cybertronians. The Other One
Following the death of Megatron X, the supersoldiers took revenge on his captor Astrotrain, but infighting broke out among them due to their programmed need for dominance in the absence of a leader. One of them somehow developed a sense of individuality, named himself Tarn, and baited his battling brethren to the main reality in order to deceive the Autobots there into leading him to the Cortex Helm. The plan succeeded, and Tarn used the Helm to alter the supersoldiers' programming, making them loyal to him. Tarn used the supersoldiers to enforce his rule, hunting down any dissenters and forcing Optimus into a brutal deathsport against increasing numbers of supersoldiers. However, Optimus was rescued by the united forces of the Autobots and Decepticons, who battled the supersoldiers in an abandoned Cube arena. Though the supersoldiers gained the upper hand, the battle was ultimately brought to an end when Soundwave recovered the Helm and used it to reprogram the supersoldiers before destroying Tarn and himself. Thanks to Soundwave's reprogramming, the supersoldiers were given free will, leading them to decide to lay down their arms. Later, several supersoldiers were seen at Soundwave's wake, joining in a toast to his memory. The Perfect Decepticon
Toys
Legacy
- Prime Universe Cliffjumper VS Beast Wars Universe Tarantulas, G1 Universe Squeezeplay, Cyberverse Universe Tarn (Multi-pack, 2024)
- Accessories: Tank turret base, 2x tank barrels, sword
- Known designers: Mark Maher (Hasbro)[1]
- Legacy: United "Cyberverse Universe Tarn" is a redeco of Legacy: Evolution Comic Universe Tarn figure, transforming into a Cybertronian tank. Tarn's tank turret can detach, and the barrels can split off and peg into the turret to make an extra-long fusion cannon. His hands feature hinged knuckles, allowing them to open and close, but are unfortunately exposed on the tank mode's rear end. While transforming into tank, the head can turn 180 degrees to provide better clearance for the robot's back/front tank turret panel. Tarn also comes with an additional sword from Legacy Bludgeon.
- While sold under the name of "Tarn", the toy is not decoed to have a scar across its face and torso and is (understandably) not missing an arm, so it better represents the Perfect Decepticon generics. Have fun troopbuilding!
- Tarn was packed in a 4-pack with Beast Wars Tarantulas, Prime Universe Cliffjumper, and G1 Universe Squeezeplay. Said 4-pack is exclusive to Target.
Notes
- The Decepticon supersoldiers are modeled after the original Tarn, the fanatic Megatron loyalist and leader of the Decepticon Justice Division from More than Meets the Eye.
