The Elonians are the dominant species of Elonia. They are humanoid in appearance, but possess a variety of colourful skin tones, including blue and red. Notable Elonians include Rom and Livia, the Space Knights.

2005 IDW continuity

Millions of years ago, the earliest Elonians were simple hunter-gatherers. One such hunter watched as the Titan Emissary crash-landed in the Thrail Mountains. The First Who Was Named Over the millennia, the Elonians developed various civilizations, unified under a planetary government, and eventually formed the Solstar Order to defend themselves from the ferocious Dire Wraiths, Shining Armor #3 utilizing a mysterious ore mined on Elonia to develop symbiotic suits of crystalline armor. In 2018, Elonia was invaded by Unicron, who sought to destroy the planet and absorb this same ore into his being. Optimus Prime and his allies joined the Space Knights as they attempted to evacuate Elonia. Though Unicron easily destroyed the planet, the Cybertronians were able to use space bridge technology to safely teleport two thirds of Elonia's population to Cybertron. Our Darkest Cybertron itself was then destroyed by Unicron, but thanks to the Spectral Knights, what remained of the Elonian species was safely teleported to Earth with the other survivors. Optimus Prime was able to foil Unicron's attack on Earth, and, with the monster vanquished, the Elonians settled into a new life on the planet alongside the other alien refugees. Post

Notes

• Rom's Hasbro Heroes Sourcebook profile mentions that he was raised by his "mothers"; it's unclear if some Elonians practice same-sex relationships or if this is a quirk of Elonian culture or reproductive biology.
• In the original ROM franchise, Rom's species is Galadorian. This was changed for IDW continuity as the Galadorians are owned by Marvel.
