Lurking at the back there.

When the Functionist Council, who at the time effectively controlled the Senate, learned that one of their Functionaries had given Whirl permission to quit the Aerial Corps and become a watchmaker, they dispatched the Heavies to destroy his workshop. Stet To hide the Functionists' involvement, Whirl was made to believe the incident was actually the result of his refusal to pay protection money to local criminal elements. Interiors

In 4th Cycle 499, the Heavies were sent, along with a third ne'er-do-well, to assist in breaking Whirl, now a dirty cop for the Senate, out of Rodion police HQ. Before they could arrive, however, they were accosted by a time traveling future incarnation of Whirl, who proceeded to beat them senseless and tear off their hands, in retribution for their destruction of his business. Whilst the Heavies lay defeated, Whirl and his fellow time travelers proceeded to discuss how the duo would arrive at the same location in a year's time to kidnap Senator Shockwave. Hammer then taunted Whirl with the revelation that the Functionists were solely responsible for his fall from grace, leading the Autobot to kill their third criminal companion in a fit of anger. Stet

Armed with the foreknowledge from the time travelers, the Heavies subsequently led Kroma and Macabre to Senator Shockwave a year later, and participated in the attempt to kidnap him. In the fight that followed, Orion Pax killed both Heavies, driving straight through Hammer and tossing a bomb at Anvil. An Intimate Beheading

Notes

  • Hammer's name was first revealed during a deconstruction of the "Shadowplay" series by The Underbase podcast.[1]
