Hirotaka Suzuoki

Hirotaka Suzuoki (鈴置 洋孝 Suzuoki Hirotaka March 6, 1950 - August 6, 2006) was a veteran Japanese voice actor. Some of his better known anime roles include Tienshinhan in Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, Masaki Murakami in the original Guyver OVA series, Eternal Bright Noa in the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, Sakaki/Giovanni in Pokémon, Tatewaki Kuno in Ranma 1/2, Noriaki Kakyoin in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure OVAs, Dragon Shiryu in Saint Seiya, Chapel the Evergreen in Trigun and (sigh) Tatsuo Nagumo in the Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend films.
In the world of dubbing, Suzuoki played such characters as Ug the Bounty Hunter (Terrence Mann) in the Critters series, Chucky (Brad Dourif) in the first Child's Play film, Riggs (Mel Gibson) in the Tokyo Broadcasting System dubs of the Lethal Weapon series, Louis Tully (Rick Moranis) in the Soft dub of Ghostbusters II, James Bond (Timothy Dalton) in the TV Asahi dub of The Living Daylights, Frodo in Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings film, and he dubbed over Tom Cruise in at least nine films.
On August 6, 2006, at the age of 56, Hirotaka Suzuoki died from lung cancer.

- Suzuoki was originally cast as Starscream in Transformers: Galaxy Force but his then declining health made him pass on the role reprisal so Takaya Kuroda was cast to voice match him.
