Shaoshao finds that Hot Rod's hobby is more than meets the eye.

Synopsis

Shaoshao Li's partner, Hot Rod, likes fishing—a quite human hobby. His fixation has gotten a bit worse, to where he's acquired a new, gigantic fishing rod. Fitting, she supposes, for a Transformer much larger than a human. Hot Rod has taken to it, swinging it around like a little kid, but Shaoshao wonders what he'll do if he encounters a Legion or an Autorooper while fishing. Hot Rod is just ready for such a scenario, though, because the fishing rod can transform into a weapon!

Shaoshao watches in surprise as Hot Rod demonstrates the rod's weapon mode, affixed to his arm. She blusters a bit, telling him he should have told her so from the beginning, as she was about to hang laundry from it (as it looks like a laundry pole). While she initially didn't see the point, she's more appreciative of the fishing rod now that she knows it turns into a weapon, but points out that he's not allowed to use it even as a fishing rod by himself; he must always bring her along on his fishing trips.
