G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers

Leatherneck Recondo Stalker and Shipwreck GIJoevsTFs2.jpg

In response to the forming of the terrorist organization Cobra and its commandeered Transformers, the United States government assembled a strike team dubbed G.I. Joe. Leatherneck was one of its earliest recruits, and enjoyed watching Quick Kick, Roadblock, and Snake-Eyes spar until they were interrupted by General Hawk. General Flagg then introduced the group to Mercer, a defector from Cobra who gave them a rundown of what they were dealing with: alien robots! G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #2

Transformers/G.I. Joe

Leatherneck was one of the initial members of G.I. Joe when the team was formed in 1939. The group travelled to the Fera Islands on their mission against Cobra, only to encounter Decepticons on the way. They nonetheless managed to parachute down to their destination. While Roadblock provided him with cover fire, Leatherneck was tasked with creating a "back door" to storm Cobra's fortress. The Line Once they happened upon the remains of more giant robots however, Leatherneck suggested their team retreat and regroup with Stalker and Snake-Eyes. They hadn't yet reached a decision when a repair drone reactivated, rebooting the Autobots around them. Despite these 'bots being friendlier than the ones they had already encountered, Leatherneck met them with vitriol, bitter over the damage the Decepticons had already dispensed on the world. Leatherneck then insisted the Joes pushed on with the mission, whatever new developments arose. The Joes soon ran afoul of a trio of Cobra planes, though thankfully they were "rescued" by Grimlock. Transformed The Joes and Autobots then continued their advance together. From the downed planes descended paratroopers... Trial by Fire among which was the Decepticon Rumble, who used his earthquake-inducing powers to halt the group's advance. Thanks to Scarlett and Superion, the Decepticon was defeated and the group pushed forward. Wolves Both strike teams of Joes then united, and along with their Autobot allies made their final advance on Cobra's base of operations. Trenches When a chain holding several of Cobra's slaves fell underneath the waves, Leatherneck was among the Joes that dove in to rescue them. The lot of them were rescued by the Autobots, save for Grunt, who never resurfaced. Eventually, the Autobots all sacrificed themselves to defeat Cobra's artificially constructed Decepticon, Bruticus, and the remnants of Cobra were taken into custody. The Iron Fist

Transformers vs. G.I. Joe

G.I. Joe, and the Earth at large, found themselves caught up in a war against the planet Cybertron. Leatherneck was among the many operatives sent to the metallic planet to take the offensive against their opponents. After an attack against the Decepticon city of Trypticon ended with the Joes on the run, they regrouped at Green Zone 0-8-6, their temporary camp behind enemy lines. There, Leatherneck helped secure Wheeljack after the Autobot was ensnared in one of the camp's perimeter traps. Targetmasters After the Joes had set up a Pit on Cybertron, Leatherneck was part of a patrol that encountered Roadblock, Tunnel Rat and Perceptor and brought them back to base. Earth: R.I.P.
