The Micronauts originated in a distant part of the galaxy. King Acroyear led a group of warriors against Baron Karza. This group included Karza's former comrades Space Glider and Celeste, as well as the Time Travelers, Microtron, and a Biotron. Synergy was a creation of the Micronauts. Unit:E

Led by Oziron "Oz" Rael, the Micronauts were a group of smugglers and misfits hailing from the subatomic dimension of Microspace, travelling aboard the starship Heliopolis and notable for their struggles against the nefarious Baron Karza and his forces. Micronauts: Revolution When Scarlett expressed her worry about what other forces could appear on Earth following Optimus Prime's activities, the Micronauts were in the middle of one such battle. Secret Raiders

This conflict had, in part, been sparked by the formation of a destructive Entropy Cloud that threatened to consume their universe entirely; when the Micronauts flew into this storm in an attempt to escape Karza, they were attacked by Reptos, a race of beings previously thought destroyed by the cloud. Before the Reptos could destroy the Heliopolis, the crew was saved by a mysterious Time Traveler, who gave them a series of visions before disappearing.

Some time later into the voyage, Microtron scanned the surrounding area for fuel, but detected something "big" instead. The Micronauts then received a message from Karza, who revealed that time and space had been distorted by the storm, while only days had passed for the Micronauts, he had spent years trapped in the very center of the entropy cloud, having discovered the birthplace of Microspace and the body of its creator—Micronus Prime. Micronauts: Revolution Hoping to reverse the damage wrought by the entropy cloud, Karza had discovered that the giant's body contained a gateway to another universe, one which held a miraculous mineral capable of repairing the damage that the entropy cloud had wrought. Having struck a deal with the devil, the Heliopolis prepared to enter the space bridge, but not before its crew were confronted by another Time Traveller, who warned them that the fate of their universe lay in their hands, not Karza's.

Due to outside forces, the space bridge portal was momentarily assaulted by explosive shards of Ore-13. After the Time Traveller warned them of the urgent nature of their mission, the Heliopolis flew onward through the Space Bridge, and emerged on Earth, inside Autobot City. Confused by their metallic surroundings, they were even more confused by Snake-Eyes, who they mistook for a gigantic Karza robot. O Ship of State In the ensuing skirmish, Acroyear battled the "robot," and was in turn confronted by robot attacked. The three sword-wielders fought each other until Soundwave intervened, though the Micronauts discovered that they were unable to communicate or understand the language of the "giants."

During the Dire Wraith attack on Autobot City, the Micronauts joined the battle alongside Optimus Prime and his new allies as Baron Karza revealed himself; unable to warn the "giants" of Baron Karza's enerchange ability, they watched in horror as their enemy merged with the Dire Wraiths to become a colossal monster. The New Colossus The Micronauts continued to fight as allegiances changed, with Acroyear attacking Matt Trakker and Snake-Eyes before Optimus was able to convince the heroes to work together to take down the true threat. The Micronauts, discovering that the Autobot Windblade spoke a variant of their language, were able to work with the Transformers, M.A.S.K. and G.I. Joe to enerchange with the Space Bridge, sacrificing their only way home to send Karza back to Microspace. In the resulting explosion, the Micronauts were assumed to have perished; in reality, they had been knocked unconscious aboard their ship and captured by a scientific organization, who wished to vivisect them. Valley Forge

After escaping human captivity and having several other adventures along the way, the Micronauts next encountered the Transformers some months later, when Garrison Blackrock, Mayday, and Kup—searching for more information about the alien artifact known as the "Talisman"—tracked them to the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. Unsure of their intentions, the encounter led to a brief skirmish that was only averted when Kup used the universal greeting to assure the Micronauts of their good intentions. Though the Micronauts were unable to identify the Talisman, Oz wondered if it could be a way home. Using the sensors aboard the Heliopolis sensors, they were able to track the Talisman's energy to an abandoned base on the Moon, and set off to rescue Action Man from the clutches of the Iron Ring. After being swatted out of the sky by Storm Shadow, Larissa enerchanged with the Talisman and revealed a Microspace-sized control suite, flying it out of the base as it self-destructed and rejoining Kup as they set course for Earth. Larissa noted she did not have full control over the device and that it would take years to understand its full capabilities. Enter the Shadow

Some time later, Baron Karza returned to Earth wielding the body of Micronus Prime, seeking to colonize the planet so that it could become a new home for his displaced people. Wrath of Karza #1 Only by teaming up with the Autobots were the Micronauts able to defeat their enemy once more, separating him from the body of Micronus and banishing the Prime through the timestream, with Oziron ascending to become a Time Traveller himself. In the aftermath, the surviving Micronauts agreed to accept Prime's help in establishing a refugee colony for the inhabitants of Microspace. Wrath of Karza #5
