Nekomimi A and Nekomimi B
From Transformers Wiki
- Nekomimi A and Nekomimi B are characters originally from the Energon portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
Nekomimi A (ネコミミA, the "brunette") and Nekomimi B (ネコミミB, the "blonde") are robotic catgirl celebrities whose exploits are apparently enjoyed by both humans and Transformers. Between appearing in cafeterias to meet-and-greet with scientific minds, guest-hosting virtual reality battle tournaments, and starring in comic books detailing their (presumably) fictional adventures, they get around quite a bit.

The Nekomimis attended a real-world cafeteria at the same time as the Jones family, who were present there for a meal. The pair could be seen chatting with several human scientists, though one can only imagine what the two of them would have in common with scientists. Optimus Supreme
Nekomimis A and B reappeared within a video game-cum-virtual battle training simulator used by the Autobots. The duo acted as announcers and referees for a series of tournament fights held between the Autobots at a low point during their war for energon, which included digital clones of the deceased and the previous bodies of characters who had been upgraded, as well as several Decepticons, who hacked into the system in order to join the fun.
Nekomimi B seemed to be infatuated with Hot Shot, calling him "dreamy" twice. Unlike Nekomimi B, Nekomimi A thought Hot Shot was "scrawny" and had her sights set on Galvatron. However, perhaps changing her mind after witnessing Galvatron's brutal takedown of Demolishor and Snow Cat, she joined Nekomimi B in calling Hot Shot "dreamy" near the end of the tournament.
Following Hot Shot and Rodimus's victory by ring-out against Optimus Supreme in the final round, Nekomimi A and Nekomimi B presented the winning team with trophies—shortly before they announced that Hot Shot and Rodimus would now take on the "special guest fighter", a pint-sized virtual incarnation of Unicron. As this last battle commenced, the two announcers wished the audience goodbye. Distribution
Some time after the tournament, Six Shot was seen reading a humorous, Transformer-sized comic book featuring the two of them. Galvatron Terror
Animated cartoon continuity
"Hello Nekomimi Pop-Star" was a merchandising brand of which Sari Sumdac appeared to be a fan. She wrote up the events of the Autobots' second clash with the Headmaster on notebook paper decorated with Nekomimi A, and later used Nekomimi B paper to recount her own battle with the Constructicons. Notes
- Though they were not named in either the Energon cartoon or the original Japanese dialogue, the Japanese ending credits to the episode identified them with the designations used in this article. "Nekomimi" (猫耳) is roughly Japanese for "kitty ears", and is a term generally applied in Japan to "catgirls".
- The chibi "Hello Nekomimi Pop-Star" girls are likely a play on "Hello Kitty".
- In the Shattered Glass Animated mirror universe, the role of the Nekomimis are filled by "So Long Inumimi Rock-Star", dog-themed girls.
