Rattletrap is an Autobot from the Animated continuity family.

Rattletrap is that one 'bot who will tell you anything if you "persuade" him enough. He's kind of a dirty rat when you think about it. He is apparently in a relationship with Botanica.^[1]

Rattletrap was among the crowd welcoming home Sentinel "Magnus" and cheering on the capture of several Decepticon prisoners. Decepticon Air

Rattletrap apparently gave info on Omega Supreme's activation codes to Shockwave. He was later interrogated by Ratchet and Captain Fanzone, who threatened to slime him if he didn't give them access to a high-security infirmary on Cybertron. This threat proved effective, but the access key card Rattletrap provided turned out not to work. Ultimately it didn't matter, as Jazz had been tailing them the whole time, and let them in. Rattletrap swiped a replica of Optimus Prime's famous axe from the Stunt Convoy, but his attempts to sell it off as the genuine article got him arrested by Sideswipe and Cheetor for dealing in stolen goods. After being brought before Prime himself and forced to reveal the truth, he offered to trade information for his freedom by telling the cops about other illegal modifications he'd seen at the Stunt Convoy's place. • Rattletrap is a homage to Rattrap from Beast Wars, specifically his "Dawn of Future's Past" Cybertronian form.
• Rattletrap's name comes off as a portmanteau of Rattrap's American name and his Japanese name (Rattle), but "rattletrap" is actually a word (with an amusingly appropriate meaning).
• Rattletrap's face was given to Transformers fan Ben "Peaugh" Dolle in the form of a Twitter avatar as a gift from Derrick Wyatt. Little did he know it was a spoiler in disguise!^[2]
• Rattletrap's voice owes a little more to Lou Costello than Rattrap's did.
• Amongst the illegal services Rattletrap is known to provide are shock pop datatrax, prismaball tickets, and forged S.T.A.R.S. idento-cards.
• Seeing how he shares the body-type with Ransack, it is safe to assume that he transforms into a Cybertronian bike.
