Synopsis
Bumblebee recalls picking up the Allspark and feeling its energies flow through him... as Windblade calls out to him and Bee regains consciousness in the midst of a pitched battle on the moon. Disoriented, he is almost run over by Megatron but Windblade manages to tackle him out of the way. The conversation between the two quickly reveals that following the revival of Optimus Prime and the Autobots aboard the Ark as well as the arrival of Starscream's fleet, Earth has now become an outright warzone between the Autobots and Decepticons. Megatron himself has even arrived and assumed direct command of the Decepticon forces, while Optimus Prime has made a public statement to the people of Earth pledging to protect them against the Decepticon menace.
The Autobots have gotten wind of the Decepticons' latest plot: utilizing a device created by Shockwave called the Planet Smasher, they intend to smash the moon into the Earth with enough force to shatter the planet, thus making it easy to sift through the debris field to located the Allspark. As Optimus is confronted by Megatron, he momentarily knocks the Decepticon leader aside with the aid of his shield and urges the Autobots to fight on. However, Windblade has already been shot down by Starscream, while an attempt by Hot Rod and Prowl to reach Shockwave's position is thwarted by Shadow Striker. As the battle rages, Soundwave dispatches a group of Autobot soldiers before blasting Rack'n'Ruin and sending them flying off into space as well.
Finding himself surrounded by Decepticon troopers, Bumblebee hits upon the idea of using his blaster to boost himself out of their reach, taking advantage of the moon's lower gravity. While he's initially disoriented, he recovers enough to help Windblade fight off Starscream and his Seekers. However, despite being able to take out many of the Seekers, Starscream himself outmaneuvers them. Grimlock quickly comes to their aid, grabbing Starscream in his jaws and hurling him away.
Meanwhile, Optimus' fight with Megatron is slowly turning in the Autobot leader's favour, leading Megatron to call on Starscream for air support. However, Starscream has retreated to the Planet Smasher's position. Seeing Grimlock charging, he demands Shockwave raise the force fields. When Shockwave refuses and informs him Megatron had called for him repeatedly, Starscream has Slipstream activate the force field, successfully knocking Grimlock back.
Starscream gloats that he had the force field activated just in time and sneers that if Megatron failed to return in time before the shield went up, then it was Megatron's problem. Soundwave's mocking laughter soon alerts Starscream to the fact that Megatron did indeed make it back, and is very displeased. Enraged by Starscream's failure (and his attempt to lay the blame at Slipstream's feet), Megatron strips Starscream of his position and promotes Slipstream to take his place as leader of the Seekers. Shockwave notices a wound on Megatron's leg (inflicted by Optimus during their fight), but Megatron angrily dismisses his concern and orders him to continue with the operation to smash the moon into the Earth.
The Autobots have meanwhile rallied as Wheeljack unveils a device to punch through the Decepticon force field. As the shield goes down, the Autobots quickly swarm the site and destroy the device, but are momentarily puzzled by the complete lack of Decepticon presence. At least, until Hot Rod sees Megatron, Shockwave, Starscream and the remaining Seekers retreat into a hidden elevator and descend. As Shockwave assures Megatron that he'd planned for the destruction of the Planet Smasher, a seething Starscream quietly swears that, "This is not over..."

Notes
Continuity notes
- Season 2 of Cyberverse begins with a major timeskip, several decades later. Where we last left the Autobots in "Eruption", Bumblebee and Windblade had only just reactivated Optimus Prime and the other crewmembers, with the main Decepticon force having just arrived over the planet. A brief montage at the beginning of this episode reveals that the Autobot-Decepticon war has since begun anew on Earth, and both sides have made themselves known to humanity in the interim. Additionally, Bumblebee has had his voicebox repaired; though it's not specifically stated, it seems likely that Ratchet was responsible, as Windblade alluded to the fact that he'd previously repaired Bumblebee's voicebox back in "Fractured."
- The episode begins with Bumblebee recalling himself picking up the AllSpark in "Allspark", via reused footage.
- Wheeljack claims the Decepticons are using the force field technology he created on Cybertron.
Transformers references
- Megatron uses an energon mace in combat.
Real-world references
- The episode's name refers to Mare Tranquillitatis.
- The station wagon that swerves to avoid Windblade's alternate mode, as seen in one of the video clips, resembles the Watterson family car from fellow Boulder Media show The Amazing World of Gumball.
Trivia
- Thundercracker, Acid Storm, Nova Storm, and Thrust are all credited with their respective voice actors, though all of them have no speaking roles, with the final two having no appearance at all.
- In a rather unusual revelation, the season, going by the first human's camcorder footage, is established as taking place in 2007—which might be a reference to the debut year of the first live-action Transformers film?
- The generic Decepticon soldiers are identical to the generic Autobot soldier model, except for their grey palette-swap and a few altered body parts.
- The episode doesn't reveal what humanity actually feels about the Transformers and their war now taking place on Earth, though Windblade's comment that "the humans might've been happier not knowing" suggests that the overall impression isn't exactly positive. Considering that in the montage, several battles have taken place in cities, including the shooting down of a Decepticon ship, that might not be surprising.
Animation and technical errors
- During the scene where Megatron promotes Slipstream to Starscream's status, Shadow Striker has her original body.
Other errors
- Optimus' face is briefly shown with his battle mask retracted when he wounds Megatron with his axe.
- Soundwave blasts some Autobots using sonic waves... even though there's no air on the Moon for those sonic blasts to travel through. On the other hand, Bumblebee pogo-ing along using the recoil from his blaster is a more-or-less accurate depiction of low-G physics, so we'll call it even?
