In an alternate timeline where Megatron never came to exist, the Senate and the Functionist Council came to blows five million years ago over these stockpiled sparks. The Senate sealed off Vector Sigma, the Council retaliated with "an army of the faithful", and the majority of Transformers who would have been born in the Harvest had their spark crystals shattered.
