You're free to come and go, or talk like Kurtis Blow, but there's a pair of eyes, in back of your head...

Sledge is unswervingly loyal and unfailingly destructive. Both qualities endeared him to Megatron, who gave him his combination abilities and his nasty Mini-Con partner, Throttler, as a reward.[1]

Power Core Combiners

  • Sledge with Throttler (Commander Class, 2010)
Part of the second wave of Power Core Combiners Commander-Class 2-packs, Sledge is a Scout-size robot that transforms into a rockwheel trencher construction vehicle with a spinning saw-blade. He can also transform to "power-up" mode, a robot torso which can then attach Power Core drone units as limbs. Unlike other Commanders, Sledge does not have a second head for his power-up mode; instead, he has faces on opposite sides of his head (much like Punch) with armor pieces that hinge to cover the face not currently in use. In robot mode, Sledge has 5mm ports on the underside of his forearms, allowing him to hold compatible weapons, such as his pack-in Mini-Con partner Throttler in drill mode.
During the period between December 26 2010 and January 31 2011, Hasbro ran their "Supercharge Your Holidays" promotion: for every $20 spent on Hasbro-branded product, customers could receive a free, random product from a list provided by Hasbro. Among the items on the list was "Transformers Combiners & Speed Stars Mini Vehicle". According to this discussion thread on Allspark.com, Sledge with Throttler was one of the figures distributed.
This mold was also used to make Dozermaster.

Everybody's got an offensive friend.
  • Power Core Combiners Special Value Offer (Value Pack, 2011)
Sledge was also made available as part of a Walmart-exclusive Black Friday "Value Pack", combining a 5-pack team with a Commander 2-pack via packaging tape and a couple of stickers, for the whopping price of ten bucks, merely a third of what the two toys would normally cost.
So far, Sledge has been found attached to the Crankcase/Destrons, Over-Run/Stunticons, and Steamhammer/Constructicons sets.

Notes

  • Due to the vague continuity of the Power Core Combiners line, it's possible that he is the same character as Generation 1 Sledge. Or he could just be another guy who's kind of like him... which isn't saying much in Sledge's case, since Decepticon construction vehicles who like breaking stuff aren't exactly rare. The specific identity of the Megatron who commands him is likewise ambiguous.
