Synopsis
The Rescue Bots are prepping the Sigma for launch, watched by the recruits who express their keenness to go along on the mission. Heatwave says the mission to the Asgard is too dangerous for a first space mission, and instead suggests they watch the mission on the monitors. Once the ship launches, the recruits decide the idea of watching the monitors doesn't hold much appeal, and instead split up to attend to their own activities. Later on, they're alarmed when the landing alert sounds, and the Sigma returns. The recruits venture inside, though Medix insists on contacting Chief Burns as per Heatwave's orders. The recruits find the ship deserted, with a map showing the destination location on the screen. Despite Medix's misgivings, the other recruits believe it's a message they need to take the ship and rescue their teachers.
There's some disagreement over who's doing what, with Wedge and Hot Shot fighting over the pilot seat. Hot Shot manages to launch the ship, however an argument breaks out, which Hoist has to break up. Medix produces the instruction manual for the ship and manages to bring the map display back up, at which point the recruits realize there are asteroids incoming. Working together, the recruits are able to follow the instructions in the manual and avoid the asteroids.
They soon arrive at the Asgard, where they find Heatwave and his team have gotten stuck outside when the Asgard started rotating again. Hot Shot releases the winch and uses his sonic blaster to manouvre his way over to the teachers, successfully picking them up. Heatwave explains he remotely commanded the ship to return to Earth though he wasn't sure the recruits would figure out what to do. Heatwave and the other teachers hit the stasis pods to recover, leaving the recruits to pilot them home.

Notes
Continuity notes
- The Asgard was first introduced back in Rescue Bots, appearing in the episodes "Space Bots" and "Switcheroo". It was previously in orbit around Earth, but now appears to have moved to a ringed planet, presumably Saturn.
- Hoist and Whirl are establishing an "Earth Museum".
- The instruction manual Medix produces is the same book he was reading while waiting to be rescued in "Mission Inaudible", though this may simply be a case of asset reuse.

Trivia
- This is the first episode of the series to feature all four of the original Rescue Bots.
- The opening scenes establish Milford as being on the coast and also very close to the Academy. Hopefully no one noticed the Sigma taking off!
