Good morning, Angels.

The members of the Street Action Team were created by Unicron long ago, to serve as mindless tools to stoke conflict on Cybertron, but High Wire was imparted with sentience by the time-travelling human Rad White. Drift This sentience spread out through the Mini-Con's shared dimension of the Linkage Linkage, and perhaps for this reason the team seemed to act as the de facto leaders of the Mini-Cons. Or maybe it was just because they could combine into a bigger robot. Who knows.

The team were among the Mini-Cons who fled Cybertron on the Exodus, and who entered stasis before the ship crashed. Prehistory When Rad discovered High Wire's Mini-Con storage panel in the year 2010, he drew the Autobots and Decepticons to Earth. First Encounter

High Wire would reveal the panels of Sureshock and Grindor, who bonded to the other children, Carlos Lopez and Alexis Thi Dang who would ultimately travel back with Rad, and would accompany them during the Autobot-Decepticon conflict. Metamorphosis Drift

The Street Action Team followed Rad and Carlos to the carnival. Shenanigans ensued. Carnival

After Optimus Prime was attacked by Starscream, the team fought back against the Decepticons, eventually causing Cyclonus to lose control and drop a Mini-Con panel. Prehistory The Street Action Team picked up a signal sent from the Destruction Team, who were following Megatron's orders to lead the Autobots into a trap. Vow When the Autobot computer was hacked into by Sideways the team assisted the kids in helping turn it off. High Wire and Grindor attempted to attack Sideways and they were all sucked into the computer, leaving their physical bodies behind. On the run from Sideways in cyberspace they passed directly through Cybertron before returning to physical form. Chase The Street Action Team detected a suspicious robot flying overhead the Autobot base. Linkup and later alerted the kids and Red Alert about a Mini-Con panel. Awakening

And when the threat of Unicron arose, it was ultimately High Wire who somehow manipulated time to bring Rad to the past, creating the time loop that gave the Mini-Cons their freedom. Drift When the Autobots and Deceptions formed an alliance against the planet eater, the team (in their combined form of Perceptor) acted as the Mini-Cons' representative, adding their hand to Optimus Prime's and Megatron's. Alliance They would see the battle with Unicron to its end, and returned to Earth to say goodbye to the human children. Mortal Combat

Dreamwave Armada continuity

Dreamwave Armada comic

When the Mini-Con's ship Street Action Mini-Con Team ended up in a cave under Lincoln, South Dakota, where they were awakened by the human Rad White, befriending him and his friends and attempting to construct a hovercraft. Armada #3 They scanned a new set of alternate modes and fled from the Decepticons. Armada #4 After the Decepticons were driven off by the Autobots and another group of Mini-Cons, the Street Action Team allied themselves with the Autobots. Armada #5 As the Street Action Team drove around town with their human friends, the Mini-Con Ark's summoning beacon reached them, and they started driving mindlessly towards Kansas. After all the Mini-Cons on Earth were gathered around the Ark, they entered it, and it took off into space. Armada #8 The Mini-Cons were taken to the Moon, where another group of Mini-Cons led by Dualor had constructed a moonbase where their race could live in peace forever. High Wire and his teammates were against this, as they'd much rather live on Earth with Rad, Carlos and Alexis. Armada #9 They awaited help from the Autobots, but were in a way saved by the Decepticons when they attacked the base and deactivated the energy field keeping the Mini-Cons behind bars. All residents of the moonbase subsequently evacuated it. Armada #10

After returning to Earth, the Street Action Team were seen listening to one of Rook's speeches about Mini-Con independence. Fire & Ice They successfully infiltrated the base, but were forced to hide from the three Heralds of Unicron who were stomping around inside. Worlds Collide, Part 3 of 4 The team located the null-reality pods, and High Wire watched as Sparkplug, Over-Run and Comettor used them to traverse dimensions and retrieve Optimus Prime. Worlds Collide, Part 4 of 4 Prime returned with news that Unicron was coming to devour their dimension's Cybertron, so all Mini-Cons had to return to their homeworld and fight against him. After saying their goodbyes to Rad, Carlos and Alexis, the Street Action Team joined the other Mini-Cons at the Loop on Cybertron and poured their energies into the Mini-Con Matrix. This allowed Over-Run to fire a massive energy blast at Unicron, crippling him. The End

Toys

Armada

Armada-Street-Action-Mini-Con-Team.jpg
  • Street Action Mini-Con Team (Mini-Con 3-pack, 2002)
The Street Action Mini-Con Team are a trio of smaller one-person vehicles: High Wire the BMX bicycle, Grindor the rocket-skateboard, and Sureshock the motor scooter. Each one has a Powerlinx socket on their vehicle mode that allows them to attach to larger toys with compatible Powerlinx plugs, activating special gimmicks on the larger toys when attached to a "live" plug. The three toys can also combine into the super-robot Perceptor.
This version of the Team was nominally available as a three-pack, released in the first wave of both Hasbro's Armada line and Takara's Legend of the Microns, with a pin joint for Perceptor's head being the only change. The Hasbro pack was also included in some clamshelled "Bonus Packs" packed in with other toys at Kmart (for a price only barely lower than buying the toys individually); the Street Action Team has been found packed with the Super-Cons Hot Shot and Sideways.

Micron CD Limited Edition Street Action Team.jpg
  • CD Limited Edition Street Action Micron (CD pack-in, 2003)
These redecoes of the Street Action Microns have been tweaked to make the three more cartoon-accurate, typically with more detailed paint operations and generally lighter colors.
This set was only available with the CD single of the first Legends of the Microns theme song, "Transformer: Dream Again" by Psychic Lover.
The team's official name has bounced a bit: the name listed above is what it's called on the packaging. Magazine solicitations called it the "Super Anime Color Edition Street Action Micron", while the "Micron Museum" portion of Takara's website called it the "Street Action Micron Anime Color (CD version)".

  • Wheelie (Change Micron, 2003)
  • Change Micron ID number: 1
  • Release date: April ??, 2003
Part of the first Kabaya candy toy Change Micron assortment, each of the Street Action Microns were sold in individual boxes, packed with a small bag of sugar-pellet candy.
Each one has a few small but significant paint differences from their original releases. But on top of that, these toys are also actually a completely new mold-set, with various tiny detail differences from the Hasbro/Takara releases.

  • Magna Convoy DX Set (Multi-pack, 2003)
  • The Exdimensions redecos of the Street Action Microns were part of the "Magna Convoy DX" set, which also included "Convoy Final Battle Coloration" (Powerlinx Optimus Prime) and "Ultra Magnus Special Clear Version". This set was only available at Japanese Toys"R"Us stores.
This deco was repurposed by Ask Vector Prime as the Urban Protection Team.

    Energon

    • Perceptor (Energon Class, 2004)
    • Takara name: Cliffjumper
    • Takara ID number: SC-09
    • Takara release date: February 26, 2004
    • Known designers: Takio Ejima (Takara)
For Energon, the Street Action Mini-Con Team were given brand new molds: High Wire is now a dirt bike, Grindor is a hovercraft, and Sureshock is an all-terrain vehicle. They retain the ability to combine into Perceptor.
There don't appear to be any discernible differences between Hasbro's Perceptor and Takara's Cliffjumper releases. Perceptor's final toy notably differs in design when compared to the cartoon, due to his cartoon model being based on an early Takara sketch that featured a completely different design for Sureshock. In this preliminary design, Perceptor's arms would've had all four of Sureshock's wheels located on them.
These molds were also used to make the Energon Extreme Competition Team and City Stealth Team.

    Universe (2003)

    • Sunstorm with Inferno and Street Action Mini-Con Team (Multi-pack, 2004)
The Armada Street Action Mini-Con Team mold set was redecoed for the 2003 Universe line, this time in a distinctly evil theme of black, dark green and blue-gray.
This version was available only as part of a Walmart-exclusive set, with Sunstorm and Inferno.
All photos on the card show the set in their respective molds' original Armada color schemes, evidence of an extremely rushed production.

    • Perceptor (Basic Class, 2005)
The Universe Street Action Mini-Con Team is a repack of Energon Perceptor, with no changes to the contents within.

    Cybertron

    • Blastcharge vs High Wire (Mini-Con 2-pack, 2006)
    • Backblast vs Sureshock (Mini-Con 2-pack, 2006)
    • Scrap Iron vs Grindor (Mini-Con 2-pack, 2006)
The Cybertron Street Action Mini-Con Team are redecos of the Energon molds, done in a rather star-spangled stunt-show deco.
They were only available split up among three different two-packs, each one packed with a member of the Deep Space Mini-Con Team.
