Unlike most of the other passengers on the colony ship Atlantis, Strongarm stayed true to the cause of justice—though the tiny, acerbic tin-star would surely balk if anyone described him like that. Once the Atlantis landed on ancient Earth, he teamed with Crosswise and Evac to round up his marauding brethren, making good use of his superior sensory components, language skills, and holomatter projector in the process. Despite having a rough exterior, Strongarm is a big softie on the inside, and wonders if he and his adopted planet's natives aren't really that different...[1]

Toys

Cybertron

Class06-toy Strongarm.jpg
  • Cybertron Primus (Supreme, 2006)
Cybertron Strongarm is identical the Classics Night Rescue Team Mini-Con Strongarm, transforming into a police car based on a 2006 Dodge Charger (but with the proportions messed up). This is the only Mini-Con mold with Powerlinx sockets that are accessible only in robot mode by design: the sockets on the outside of his lower legs end up folded against his thighs inside his car mode.
He was "only" available in a special release of the Cybertron Primus toy which was only available at Walmart stores, which also comes with Knockdown, Nightscream, and Offshoot. (Of course, being an identical release of a toy available at regular retail....)
This mold was also used to make Detectas, Rad Rogue, Flatfoot, Overcharge, and Mighty Stra.

Notes

  • Strongarm's characterization is based on the Law & Order character Lennie Briscoe, portrayed by Jerry Orbach.
  • A Mini-Con called Strongarm was planned for release in one of the Cybertron Mini-Con Versus Packs, where he would have faced off against Offshoot. His bio describes him as a diligent student with a vehicular mode who took up peacekeeping, which seems like a fit for the police car mold—although it's not clear who the "hero" he chose that form in homage to would have been.[2]

"More serious than his friends KNOCKDOWN and NIGHTSCREAM, STRONGARM was the one who paid most attention in primary programming. His high grades and adherence to the rules have led him to pursue a career in peacekeeping. He has even gone so far as to model his vehicle mode formatting on his hero, and it was his idea that he and the other members of the Night Rescue Team try to take on the Predator Attack Team. Just because they're cut off from civilization, he reasons, there's no excuse for being uncivilized."—Hidden bios for the unreleased Cybertron Mini-Con Versus Packs found on the Transformers website
