Talk:Arms Micron
From Transformers Wiki
Untitled
I don't see why the team needs to be referred to as plural "Arms Micron," which is admittedly awkward, when Microns plural are normally given an "S." With katakana, an "S" sound is typically not added at the end even for plural things, and the descision is often made in the translation. As "Arms Microns," I really don't see anything too unwieldy about the name. They're Microns that turn into weapons (arms), hence the name. HydraDW 01:32, 16 March 2012 (EDT)
"show" Gashapons = new characters?
Well... what do people think? We don't seem to have any backstory on Optimus Prime Blaster and the other show-character-based Microns. I'm fine with treating them as new charcaters who, well, happen to look like the show guys. It makes more sense for weapons to have turned into Microns that happen to look like existing bulks than, well, for the Microns to BE those bulks. --M Sipher 00:54, 4 June 2012 (EDT)
- I wouldn't move them at all until we get some actual confirmation about what they are, to avoid having to move them back again. For all we know they are the same character, only turned into Microns by some generic plot device. JelZe GoldRabbit 10:28, 8 June 2012 (EDT)
Japanase Prime cartoon.
Are the arms microns the guns that the Autobots and Decepticons use throughout the show, like Optimus's gun that comes out of his arm, and Megatron's fusion cannon in the japanese cartoon?
Super Combo Weapons
Are Super Combo Weapons like the Break Scythe, Darkness Scythe, Morning Star, Killer Bite, Laser Gunblade, and Big Laser Gun the kind of things that would be acceptable as one unified "Super Combo Weapons" page?KrytenKoro 15:20, 26 November 2012 (EST)
- In the past, we've generally given combined forms their own pages.--RosicrucianTalk 17:34, 26 November 2012 (EST)
- No. --M Sipher 21:47, 26 November 2012 (EST)
Redeco combinations
Is there any policy about using redeco versions of a character for pictures of combined modes? I'm getting the Decepticon five pack and I'm willing to take toy pictures of combo weapons we're missing that I could make with that set, at least until someone steps up with replacement "normal" deco pics. - We still prefer using original colors as much as possible AFAIK, so recolors would definitely be replaced as soon as originals are available. Feel free to take pictures of the individual Microns and put them in their respective pages tho. JelZe GoldRabbit 10:14, 22 January 2013 (EST)
- I'll just make the combo pics available if anyone else feels strongly about it: zandergb.(tumblr is blocked yo).com/post/41427425741/ Zandergb 02:35, 25 January 2013 (EST)
"Mystic" energon RGB
The "Mystic" energon in the chart is missing its Aqua-Blue RGB color value. I'd add it in myself, but I don't own any Arms Micron toys (let alone those three), so I don't know what its RGB value is. --Sabrblade 21:48, 10 May 2013 (EDT)
New Color for the chart + Hyper Combos
I know this is a bit late, but there's a final color for the chart (until the crystals for Zan, Jin and Gan are ID'ed): Violet (or something) for Shadow Gabu, Shadow Baru and Shadow Dai, the Crystal Type is "Death Dark". Should that be added? Secondly, the Advanced Star Saber and Gravity Planet Bowgun are designated "Hyper Combos" in their Instructions. Should we make a separate Combination section for that or wait for a proper definition of the term? It seems "Hyper Combos" are mere "extended" Super Combos JelZe GoldRabbit 16:46, 31 May 2013 (EDT)
Alternate (official?) English spellings fr several Arms Microns, combinations, and Arms Up Modes
This video here from TakaraTomy gives the all of the following Arms Microns/combinations/Arms Up Modes some very different English spellings from what we have written on this Wiki (video names on the left, Wiki names on the right):
- "Full-Burst22 Optimus" - actually, we don have this one on here yet, so... nevermind this one
- "B2" - B.2
- "Scythe" - Sise
- "Shell" - C.L.
- "Heavy-Armed B2" - Heavy Armed B.2
- "God Optimus Prime" - don't have this one on here either
- "Gull" - Gul
- "God Grave" - God Glaive
- "God Archery Mode" - also missing this one
- "God Archery" - God Archery. Okay, this one is the same, but I mention it to point out that the video specifically calls it a "Hyper Combo Weapon".
The rest of the names it uses are the same as the ones the Wiki uses (i.e. - "Ulma", "Ida", "L.P.", "O.P.", "Iro", "God Stole", etc.).So, how do we handle these names? Replace the ones we have with these that come from an official TakaraTomy video? Consider these names to be typos like the "Arms Midrons" goof that also exists at one point in the video (despite it also correctly using "Arms Microns" at another point) and keep our current names? Use some, but not others? And, if we do go with "B2", would "S.2" become "S2" as well? What do we do, here? --Sabrblade 01:17, 14 July 2013 (EDT)
- I would ignore all of the spelling differences other than parsing (like "B2" or "Heavy-Armed B2") because they make no sense. ArmesUp. Eesh. Mimi 05:19, 14 July 2013 (EDT)
- This should probably be noted, as it's official, but...I mean, it's 100% clear that some unpaid intern threw it in babelfish and called it a day with these, right?KrytenKoro 11:05, 14 July 2013 (EDT)
Messed up Micron ID Numbers
Love the intention of putting the numbers in order... except the Micron ID's do NOT match set ID's, as they get them from the mold trees instead (which explains the gaps in the original list, they go to the Dark Matter Calibur and Cosmotector trios). Should we go ahead and correct, or just take the easy route and revert? JelZe GoldRabbit 09:19, 20 October 2013 (EDT)
- If it is currently flat-out presenting incorrect information (I'm not upon on my Arms Micron knowledge), it should be reverted for now, but I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be (correctly) organised by ID number. Jalaguy 13:45, 20 October 2013 (EDT)
- It was (and is again) organized by release date, as are all the other listings on the page. --M Sipher 14:08, 20 October 2013 (EDT)
