The deal with the Voin is actually that the squiddy thing in the globe is the Voin, and – at some point, I’ll explain this in the comic, but I’ll spoil it for you guys – The somewhat ape-like things are kind of organic genetically engineered slave organisms that – although they look a bit like apes they’re not really sentient in themselves – they’re sort of subservient to the squid thing in the globe.
