Monsters from Kade's favorite movie materialize; it's up to the Dino Bots to corral the Kaiju.

Synopsis
It's night in Griffin Rock and at the drive in theater, the rescue team is enjoying a classic movie, though Dani is not enjoying the cold. Kade insists that this is how Attack of Humungado was meant to be seen. Blades claims the monsters look fake, but apparently not enough that he doesn't yelp when Humungado roars. Mr. Bunty is called away from the projection booth to sell popcorn, only for a gust of wind to knock a Humungado standee against the projector, starting a fire. The rescue team spots the fire and moves in, with Kade and Heatwave extracting Mr. Bunty from the projection booth where he's being trying to extinguish the fire himself. With Bunty headed for a doctor, the team extinguishes the fire and Kade sadly picks up a Humungado film can.
Later on, the building housing the projector has been restored to its former state by the rescue team, with Blades and Dani placing the new roof. Mr. Bunty admires their work but laments that the projector is a write-off. Fortunately Doc Greene and Frankie arrive to save the day with a projector the Doc has created using the same technology as the Imaging Chamber — not only will it project the movies, but will be able to manifest the monsters as holograms. Kade manages to procure a new copy of Attack of Humungado and its sequels and Mr. Bunty is soon threading up the projector for another nighttime showing. As the movie starts, Kade whips up a batch of Nachos del Kade and sticks it in the microwave. As Mr. Bunty activates the projector to produce a 3D image of the monster Rayvenous, the microwave overloads, sending a power surge into the projector and allowing Rayvenous to fly off while Bunty and Kade attend to the microwave.
The next morning, the team gets a call from the mayor complaining that a monster is attacking his house. Though they assume it's a raccoon, they head there and find Rayvenous tearing up the mansion. Blades is in favor of letting Rayvenous fly away, but when Heatwave sprays the beast with water, it dives into the ground. The rescue team follow it into the tunnels and split up to search, while Kade tells everyone that Rayvenous is weak to bright light. Blades is naturally the one to find the creature and is almost eaten by it, but the rest of the team arrive in time to tackle it, and Chase puts it to sleep with a flash of light. They soon have Rayvenous in a tank, ready to be reinserted back into the movie. The Greenes have modified the projector to reverse the process, however as Doc demonstrates the projector, a knob falls off. They're still searching for it when the projector brings Humungado himself into the real world.
After taking a swipe at the rescue team, Humungado knocks Rayvenous's tank across the drive in. Heatwave and Chase tackle the larger Kaiju but are tossed aside, and when Blades tries it as well, Humungado stomps on him. Boulder fares little better when he grabs Humungado's tail, and the creature stomps off, with the rescue team in pursuit. They catch up with Humungado in the middle of Griffin Rock, and Blades attempts to use his winch on the creature. Though it doesn't work very well, moments later Humungado stops short at a billboard showing a dinosaur and smashes it, causing Kade to remember that in one of the sequels Humungado fought dinosaurs. The Rescue Bots assume their dino modes so the creature will stop attacking the town and go after them instead. They're soon able to use their dino-powers to drive Humungado back towards the sea. At the drive in, Doc Greene has completed repairing the projector and prepares to send Rayvenous back to the film, however the creature uses its freeze beam on the cage's lock and gets free.
At the beach, they hear Rayvenous's homing call, and the team comes up with the idea of using the other Kaiju as bait to lure Humungado back to the drive in. When they contact Doc, it's to the news that Rayvenous is free, but Cody's able to instruct them on using light to knock the creature out. Blades is sent to pick up Rayvenous and dangles the cage as bait in front of Humungado. They successfully lead Humungado to the drive in, where Blades manages to drop Rayvenous before a blast from Humungado causes him to crash. Though Rayvenous is free again, Kade believes the two monsters will be too busy fighting, however the duo instead stop and look at each other, and they realize instead it's a monster team up to fight the rescue dinosaurs. Blades manages to jump on Rayvenous's back, and the other Rescue Bots restrain Humungado long enough for the projector to charge and send the two Kaiju back into the movie. Kade decides in light of the new information that Humungado and Rayvenous are friends, he'll have to rewatch all of the movies, and despite their protests, the rest of the team joins him.

Quotes
"Guys, if you all don't stop bickering, you're going to miss the movie."
"I, for one, have already lost the story's subtext."
- —Chief Burns and Chase
"I knew we could count on our fellow Humungadorks! Tracked down this new print in no time. They threw in the sequels for nothing!"
"Humph! Exactly what they're worth."
- —Kade and Mr. Bunty
"A monster's munching the mayor's mansion. And no, I will not repeat that."
- —Chief Burns
"Guess what we're doing tonight."
- —Heatwave, as Humungado materializes.
"Fictional beast, you are resisting an officer of the law!"
- —Chase
Notes
Continuity notes
- Boulder scanned his dino-mode back in "Big Game" while Heatwave, Chase and Blades scanned theirs in "Quarry's Quarry". The weapon-like capabilities of these modes were also revealed in the latter episode.
Transformers references
- When Humungado is chasing Rayvenous' cage, carried by Blades, he successfully hops over a gorge to the other side. This may be a cheeky reference to Trypticon's notorious inability to do the same.
Real-world references
- Humungado is an homage to Godzilla, as is his theme music.
Animation and technical errors
- When Humungado materialises prior to the act-break, he's shown blasting fire breath. However, after the break, the bots and humans are just standing around un-toasted and not-fleeing from fire, and Humungado proceeds to lash out with his tail.
- If Humungado's dislike of dinosaurs wasn't established until the second sequel, it's strange that an earlier version of the character should exhibit a trait that wasn't yet established. Right?
Trivia
- Did the Chief really have to use his comm to call everyone into action during the movie fire, when they were all sitting right next to each other?
