Synopsis
From his deathbed on Cybertron, the badly injured Ultra Magnus dictates his final wishes to a grieving Ratchet. He tells him that he wants the Magnus Hammer to be given to Optimus Prime, as its power can be used to change the tide of the war. Finally, he tells Ratchet he wants Optimus Prime to return to the Elite Guard... and that he was wrong for discharging him so harshly.
Ratchet tries to reassure Ultra Magnus that he'll be able to tell Optimus these words himself, but out of the blue, Shockwave bursts onto the scene! Shockwave declares that this time around, Ultra Magnus shall not survive his attack and that he shall claim the Magnus Hammer for the Decepticons. Ratchet realizes that he must have been a spy the whole time.
Shockwave attacks with his extending claw, but Ratchet counters with his "Magnet Power". Enraged, Ratchet uses his magnet to lift the Magnus Hammer and slam it straight into Shockwave. Recovering, Shockwave calls Ratchet a fool for delivering the Hammer right to him. Ratchet reminds Shockwave that he isn't in this battle alone. Then, with his last ounce of strength and the shout of "Thunder!", Ultra Magnus activates the Hammer in Shockwave's hands; the explosion of energy frying and killing the Decepticon.
Later, back on Earth, a trio of Lugnut Supremes appear in the city. Ratchet tells Optimus that now is the time to put the Magnus Hammer to use and Optimus agrees, grabbing it and his Wingblade armor. Heading into battle, Optimus swears to bring victory for the memory of Ultra Magnus.

Notes
- Ratchet versus Shockwave over the Magnus Hammer while Ultra Magnus is in ICU is taken from "This Is Why I Hate Machines", whereas the ending points to the Autobots preparing to fight in "Endgame, Part I".
- Deviating from the cartoon's account of the events rather significantly, Shockwave is killed rather than captured.
- None of The Cool Extra issues were collected in the Transformers Animated: The Cool - Special Edition trade paperback. To date, these final 3 installments have never been reprinted.
