After the Tidal Wave had detected the energy trail of a Cybertronian spacecraft, Thundertron had the ship set course for the Cybertronian colony of Velocitron. He quickly questioned the planet's leader if there were any Cybertronians there.

After not gaining anything from Velocitron, the Tidal Wave left the planet and began tracking the trail once again, travelling through a space bridge to the planet Junkion, discovering the Cybertronian ship and another. When the Star Seekers intervened in the battle, they captured Wreck-Gar, the leader of the native species, forcing him to install both a space bridge and the Requiem Blaster onto the ship with Axer boarding as the newest Star Seeker. Reuniting with its smaller fleet, the Tidal Wave used Junkion technology to mimic the frequency of the Ark to bait a trap for the Nemesis. Though the trap was sprung, the Tidal Wave soon discovered the cost of the Requiem Blaster, the ship being unable to provide enough power to properly fuel and cool the weapon, forcing the pirates to detach the Blaster and engage the Nemesis in ship-to-ship combat. Though the Tidal Wave was the larger of the two craft, the more nimble Nemesis ultimately proved the mightier warship, damaging the Tidal Wave to the point that the Star Seekers were forced to retreat, lest the ship be destroyed.
