Darak and Solila have a long journey across the Wastelands, with no idea that they've become the prey for Zertonia's greatest hunter.

Synopsis
Ten years ago, Darak was working as an Edgewalker, helping construction projects on the edge of Agorria and the Wastelands of the Sacred Ring. When a stack of crates topples over and threatens to crush a fellow worker, Darak pushes him out of the way. However, due to the intense gravity near the edge of the Ring, Darak is sent careening over the edge, finding himself in the middle of the Wastelands...
In the present, Solila asks if Darak has a plan, and he reveals he's been to the Wastelands before. Handroid tells them that the quickest path across the Wasteland would take them three months, but their supplies will only last four to six weeks. Darak tells them that they really only need to make it halfway, though he doesn't elaborate on why. Despite Solila's skepticism, the two begin their long trek.
Back in Zertonia, Zalilak meets with Proximus in a mental space and tells him about what has occurred with Darak and Solila and asks him to hunt them down before they can reach Agorria. Proximus notes the panic in Zalilak's voice and taunts him, but ultimately agrees to the mission, as they both wish to prevent the coming of Goliant. Proximus asks the Premier what he'd do if Proximus decided to turn against him, though Zalilak is confident that what happened in their last encounter — and Proximus's current state — will be enough to deter that.
Back in reality, Zalilak orders Gulan to release Proximus: his body has been mostly destroyed so that he is kept on life support in a healing tank. When Gulan removes him from the tank, cybernetic enhancements recreate his missing body parts and form armor around him. Proximus quickly takes his leave to pursue his hunt. As he leaves, Gulan collapses in fear at what they've just done.
As the rivals' journey continues, Solila asks Darak to tell her more about his vision, but Darak says he's already told her everything he can remember. Handroid surmises that it was likely just a hallucination brought on by the intensity of the jump jet launch, but Solila is confident that he was chosen by Zerta. As the two make camp for the night, Solila secretly examines the key she was given by Mistress Vill... who, back in Zertonia, senses that Solila is on the path to her destiny.
