One of our favorite fellows competing on “The Masked Singer” season 12 is disguised as Goo. He wowed the crowd in his first appearance on October 16 with a rollicking rendition of “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims.
It became clear quite quickly that this contender, who has the build of a professional athlete, is also a talented singer. We didn’t get a lot of clues about the famous face hiding behind this mask but we think we saw and heard enough to know his real name.

We think that the Goo is Kobie Turner, the record-breaking defensive end for the Los Angeles Rams. Don’t agree? Well take a read of how the clues line up with the life of Kobie Turner.
Goo sounds just like Kobie, who has sung the national anthem at home games for two of L.A.’s other pro sports teams: the Lakers and the Kings.
The biggest tip-off came with the choice of Ambassador: Keenan Allen. This NFL great competed on season 9 as the Gargoyle. Reflecting on that experience, Allen said, “everyone got to see my softer, sensitive side, even though they know me as tough.” He then revealed, “Knowing Goo, I can say he’s the same.”
Goo revealed that “growing up I wanted to tackle everything in my way.” He has certainly done a lot of tackling on the football field, first as a star in high school, then at both the University of Richmond and Wake Forest University, and finally in the NFL.
He cops to being “a total music nerd, starting a cappella groups, music lab, and even winning awards.” Again, that ties into Turner’s bio, which makes mention of him having been in three a capella groups in high school, where had the nickname of “The Conductor.”
And the Sports Night clue confirmed our theory: they were golden cleats with music notes on them. As Goo said, “For me, you may want to focus on the sole of the shoes.”
