Köseyi Dönen Adam (1978)
Political Black Comedy
Unknown to most Turkish viewers (due to censor in Turkish Televisions) this movie has strong political content other than just being and absurd comedy.
Adem is a worker in bubble gum factory. He is a total loser and nobody -except the tea maker of factory- respects him and treat him like a sh*t. And he's a naive dreamer with high hopes who thinks about having home and car with newspaper coupons.
When an official from US Embassy comes and tell that he had inheritance from his uncle in US. Everybody starts to act differently, they start to make compliments to him. He's made partner to factory, his landlord agrees to marry her daughter to him. But when they learn his inheritance is a donkey people get angry until a journalist make a false news about there's a huge diamond in donkey's stomach.
Then people start to wait donkey to sh*t. So they can get the diamond. after days of waiting (because Adem gave donkey some chemicals to delay) when donkey shits. All people who're waiting rush to sh*t and try to find diamond. Adem leaves the factory with disgust. For the first time his life he has seen the ugly face of mankind and he lost his hope for humanity. But then a group of marching workers emerge with a banner "Fascism Shall Not Pass". He joins them and movie ends with he's shouting "Freedom to Party of Worker Class" This last part(and some other references during movie) is never shown in Turkish televisions.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)
Booooring
That movie was just boring and bad. Crappy acting, bad script, and average special effects i wasn't expecting a LoTR but something more intelligent.
My friends made me see this movie despite my opposition. I was bored during all the film. There are no depth of characters, almost no interrelations between them. There are no background stories that movie is telling other than main story. And why Aslan is so important we don't know (maybe it is explained in the book but it would be nice if they explained in movie yes there are some clues but they are simply not enough)
But there are some surprises for me which are seeing Turkish delights in movie and lion named Aslan (Aslan means lion in Turkish)
I dunno if i were 12 maybe i would like this movie but now it is just a piece of crap.
The President's Man (2000)
Wonderful movie
This is the most wonderful movie I've ever seen. This is the movie of my life. Chuck Norris is my idol. He is one of the most realistic actors in Hollywood with Al Pacino. I know 3 men: Al Pacino, Sean Penn and Chuck Norris. I watched this movie 35 times, nearly per two weeks.

Vizontele Tuuba (2003)
The best pre-80 movie
12 September 1980 is one of the most important days in Turkish history. New constitution and laws made after Coup D'Etat were biggest backward steps in Turkey. These anti-democratic laws made Turkey semi-fascist state. Nowadays we are trying to restore our democracy. The last quarter of 70's most of the right and left groups were terrorizing over the country. Everyday tens of people were killed in explosions and assassinations. And the Army made a Coup and make very strict laws. The movie tells about the last summer before the coup. In the least developed part of country. (southern-east) A man is appointed to the town as a library manager. But there is no library there and he is actually exiled because he is communist. It tells about political struggles between two left fraction. People's love and life. And that dark era can not be explained more funny.
24 (2001)
Highly addictive
When I first heard about the idea of a real-time series I didn't thought it will be that good. But it is very exciting and you can't stop watching it. It makes addiction. Even my mom (she really hates Action) is watching it :). !!!CONTAINS !!!SPOILER!!! ABOUT 2. SEASON!!! Kim Bauer is a disaster she harmed directly or indirectly a lot of people in season 2. lets count 1) The man she works for (killed him) 2) No 1's wife (No 1 killed her) 3) Their daughter (she lost her parents) 4) Her boyfriend (lost his legs) 5) The policeman who drives the car. (Wounded in accident) 6) The market's owner ( killed by a customer) 7) The customer (killed by police) 8) Customer's wife (lost his husband when she is pregnant we can count her 2) 9) The policeman who escorts her (killed by No1) No need to more comment :P PS1: Turkish Prime minister was talking Arabic accent not Turkish that was disturbing. PS2: According to constitution Turkish Prime Minister can not open airfield when the planes going a war. He has to get permission from parliament.
Okul (2004)
Neither scary nor funny
I was not expecting a classic, but at least a funny film. There were only a few scenes that makes you laugh but nothing more. You don't scare it is full of American teen-slasher cliches and you can guess what will happen easily.
But it tells much about a senior student in a Turkish High-School. Pressure of Student Selection Exam (OSS) that 3-hour-exam determines which university you'll go and thinking about the exam when a ghost is after you is not exaggeration. The movie is bad. Don't waste your time to watch it.
Bir Tat Bir Doku (1999)
Funny
Funny, funny, funny!!! You will not think you, you will not talk you will laugh. No human-being can sit still while watching this. I watched it millions times but still laugh. Cem Yilmaz is the funniest man in Turkey. If you wanna laugh watch it.
Good Bye Lenin! (2003)
Really good
I expected a didactic film. But it was not at all. It makes you feel what a DDR citizen felt in 1990. Think about everything you did, liked or got used have disappeared in a few months. That's why alex gone crazy in bank. That money was their efforts for years but now it was worthless.
But it's also political and but the movie is not on a side. Neither Easterns nor westerns are the good guys. Both are the bad guys. Eastern side represents oppression and the Western side represent insensitivity and greed. End of the movie tells us what the maker imagine what should have been. Equality but also freedom. Not: If I had been a DDR citizen. I'm sure i would sob. Especially when Sigmund Jähn were talking at the end.
Dünyayi Kurtaran Adam (1982)
Legend
This movie is a legend for turkish people younger than 25, like all cüneyt arkýn movies you can laugh untill you die. It is not a comedy (that makes it funny) and the company which produced Dünyayý Kurtaran Adam went bankrupt after that movie. If you wanna laugh watch it. If you don't know turkish learn and watch it i guarantee it will be much more funnier
